The Mansteror “The Split”

An American reporter in Japan is sent to interview an eccentric Japanese scientist working on bizarre experiments in his mountain laboratory. When the doctor realizes that the hapless correspondent is the perfect subject for his next experiment, he drugs the unfortunate man and injects him with a serum that gradually transforms him into a hideous, two-headed monster.

A dumb and pointless piece of 50s horror-schlock about a 2-headed human mutation.
It’s widely considered a camp-classic but unfortunately it didn’t do anything for me.
Yeah, the opening scene with the gorilla-monster and the freak is fun and yeah, the transformation scenes look superb (f.e. the eye on the shoulder) and yeah, the ‘Manster’ itself is a hilariously gorgeous creature
    - but apart from that, this movie is just terrible.
The acting is below-average, large parts of the dialogue are unbearably bad, the plot sucks, many of the special effects are extremely laughable (check out the incredibly schlocky splitting-scene) and most of the time, it’s dull and tiresome.
