I had HIGH hopes for “Necromentia”. I read several reviews from some other respected websites, and the reviewers in every case mentioned Clive Barker’s “Hellraiser”. I saw “Hellraiser” in the theatre when it came out, and I like it. I was a BIG Clive Barker fan and the film, Hellraiser”, simply did not stand up to Barker’s “Books of Blood”. The movie did have the frightening, Cenobites. Later, “Hellraiser II” would give us more than a glimpse of the Cenobites hellish domain.
Let me tell you as a long-time Clive Barker fan, “Necromentia” bears no resemblance or “feeling” of the Barker occult ethos. “Necromentia” does not have the feeling of dread, doom, and the alien. It doesn’t even come close. I hear the film-maker is an avowed fan of Barker, and that’s cool. Mr. Teo has a long way to go.
The acting here really sucks as does the “story”. It’s boring. I’d recommend a pass on this. Watch or re-watch a movie that Clive Barker has personally touched: “Hellraiser” series, “Nightbreed”, and “Lord of Illusions”.

Ummm, where to start.
VERY strange film, that is actually pretty tough to interpret. Though, I knew nothing going in as well. I liked it though, it was executed well imo and it seemed rather like an original mix of things. I’d say it’s worth a watch, it’s pretty sick though, just to be warned.

I found this film for $2 at a used dvd store, so I decided to give it a try. It was very strange, but played out in an effective way. There were some very disturbing scenes and I think it is worth a watch.

Very enjoyable horror flick I think. Kinda like Hellraiser a bit but in a good way. Not your average story by any means and it can be a jumbled mess at times but in the end its a very dark and gritty film. Worth a watch for sure.

I really liked this movie. It has a very disturbing beauty to it. I enjoyed the reverse storytelling, it kept me engaged. I would’ve liked to have seen more done with the residents of hell. Compared to the rest of the visuals they seemed shortchanged.

I saw some things for this that caught my interest so I decided to check it. Well to put it simply this is the worst movie I’ve ever seen and I’m not even joking. Please no one waste your time with this its terrible! This movie ade me hate myself for watching it, it was so boring and nothing happened throughout the entire movie. It starts no ware and ends no ware. I can whole heartly say that almost all SYFY movies are better than this, thats how bad this movie truly is. I can’t stress enough how much you should not watch this it will make you hate yourself.

seemed like a low budget rip off of hellraiser. It had a few good scenes here and there but i found myself fast forwarding to the end. don’t waste your time.
