This movie is by far the worst Saw I’ve ever seen. The main protagonist is annoying and I couldn’t care about him at all. Hoffman is a character I’ve never truly liked and I despise him even more in this movie, because he goes against everything Jigsaw stands for and pretty much gets away with it, I will not spoil it for you, but there is one death that nearly had me walking out of the theater.

The main “twist” if you could call it that, you can guess 5 minutes into the film, its boring and predictable and seems somewhat forced; much like this entire movie. 3D isn’t needed it adds nothing except another level to the overdone gore.

In my opinion this has no place in the Saw series, movie 1-3 (maybe 4) will always be the pinnacle; do the series and yourself a favor and skip this movie.

Another worthy addition to the franchise (and the 3D was pretty excellent too) but I just sense a Friday the 13th: A New Beginning-type scenario coming down the pike fast. Don’t you dare believe Lionsgate or anyone involved with this when they say it was designed to be the last. That was HARDLY what I would call a finale. It left more things unresolved than not!

Quick Thoughts: Not as good as 6, some of the acting was laughable, and the 3D wasn’t necessary and made the film feel less serious. However, a decent film and I enjoyed the ending.

    It’s been fun Saw Series.

I’ll make this short and sweet.

I loved SAW VI, and was overly excited for this one. SAW VII is predictable and honestly a little boring. The traps are sub-par, and characters are forgivable, but all this movie is 90 minutes of fluff. The whole movie is filler with a plot that goes nowhere and an ending you see coming a mile away.

This movie doesn’t answer many questions if any really. As an avid SAW fan, I can be satisfied with this film and hope they leave the series alone from here. It had a good run, but I don’t think they can squeeze anymore life out of this franchise after VI. It was a good effort, but it falls short of anything special. Oh and the 3-D added nothing to the film.

Next Halloween won’t feel the same without my midnight trip to see the new SAW movie, but I think I can manage.

3D was unspectacular and didn’t really raise the bar, the first Saw film that felt campy at times, lots of characters introduced simply to be killed off who didn’t tie into the lineage, hardly any Tobin Bell, a couple memorable scenes, a few surprises with a pretty good ending, a fun time at the movies over all, worth a look especially at an early show price. If you don’t want to pay extra for the 3D you won’t miss a thing.

Not the best Saw film, but def a great way to end the series. the traps were fantastic, the gore was awesome, story was good, like i said not the best but def not the worst (worst “Saw” film goes to “Saw V” in my book), a good closing to the saw franchise, but i sure am gonna miss the yearly Saw trip to the movies

One word, Disappointment. I am going to see it again next week just to make sure I wasn’t being too harsh with this score.

This finale is akin to The Sopranos, it doesn’t end half way through a sentence but it does end with several questions still unanswered. I don’t want to ruin it for you by saying what they are. Just lower your expectations a little and you might enjoy this movie more than I did. Overall the film was gore heavy and all bar one of the traps didn’t disappoint. The film needed to be longer, especially considering the fact that they merged two films into ninety minutes, and needed to flesh out the new characters properly, rather than the half fast flashback one character receives.

I hope you can find it within yourselves to enjoy this mess. I’m not sure that I can just yet.

I am a huge mark for the Saw series so I went to the Fan Appreciaction Screening (THANKS B-D!!!)with a smile on my face ready for the last entry of this great series. The film was fun. Which is not exactly what I go to see Saw films for. Yes, it had the gore, but it lacked the ominous dread that usually accompanies the pacing of the previous films. The blood was more “red” for a lack of a better word, not the dark, grimy stuff we’re used to seeing. The 3-D was good, but like most 3-D movies, it takes away from the pacing of the film. However, the traps this go around were more clever and each one seemed more and more over the top. I enjoyed seeing Dr Gordon back in action and how he was tied to the Jigsaw legacy. Not to give too much away, I’m sure all Saw fans will enjoy seeing the new T-1000 model, Detective Hoffman in the Police station ripped straight out of the original Terminator. Like all of the Saw movies, the ending is hand delivered to you with a big, red blood dripping bow, and believe it or not, the Jigsaw legacy could still continue… should box-office revenues dictate. If this is the last one, it’s been a bloody good run, if not, I’ll see you in line next Halloween for Saw 8.

    “”SPOILERS”"

OK..NO NOT EVERYTHING WAS TIED TOGETHER.. WHY CUT PIECES FROM EACH BODY? WHY HAVE A BUNCH OF EXTRA TESTS WE NEVER KNEW ABOUT? ADDING THOSE WAS DUMB..BASICALLY-WHAT WAS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THE DAMN PUBLIC TRAP? IT SIS NOT FIT ANYTHING>> HOW COULD HOFFMAN OF SET IT UP? OR WAS IT GORDON? OR WAS IT 2 YEARS BEFORE THE FINALE? WHY NOT TIE IT UP? WHY NOT RESOLVE EVERY ASPECT? IT SUCKED BECAUSE OF THIS>>> THE TESTS.. ETC..BOBBY DEGAN PART..WHY?? THIS WAS ALL STUPID…..

    NO AMANDA…

NOT MUCH JOHN.. SO WHAT WAS JIGSAWS LEGACY? WHAT WAS THE FINAL PIECE OF THE PUZZLE?

THEY MADE A MOVIE WHERE THEY HAD 15 MIN of tory to tell and spread it over 90+ min of crappy acting and repetative traps… BOO.. I loved the end.. but still too much left unsaid..NOT WORTH THE ANTICIPATION

    DISSAPOINTED!!!!!

Firstly, let it be known that I have been following ‘Saw’ since the 2003, when the first was making festival rounds – that being said, I was utterly disappointed with this film, hence the one star.

I would recommend it to a friend ONLY once it has come out on video, because I am a die hard fan of the franchise. This is NOT worth the 18 dollar ticket, the 3D isn’t even utilized, saved for about two gimmicky gags that are super cheesy and don’t even work (a hacksaw flying toward you, spikes that are supposed to be reaching out at you).

This movie sucked. Unlike the other films this one cannot stand out it’s own. I’ve stood by this series for seven years and yes I know this franchise isn’t perfect, but this one actually gives critics a right to gouge out their eyes. There is no twist ending, and if you consider this ending one then you either don’t know what a twist ending is, or weren’t paying any attention to the first 15 minutes of the film – it’s clearly given away. If your a fan of the films, you already know how this ends.

The filmmakers were so focused with ‘going out with a bang’ that they obviously crammed trap after trap into this film without even attempting to develop even what were supposed to be the main characters in this film. The blood is pink and even purple at times, channeling ‘Sweeny Todd’, and (due to the medium this was shot out) is far to clean and pristine to be a Saw film. Furthermore, the acting loads this film with cheesy and ridiculous moments that are far too light hearted or obscure to fit into a Saw film.

What til video my friends, unlike the want to taken for a fool once more by Lionsgate and pay an overpriced ticket like i did to see this in theaters.

This movie was such a letdown that I see it as a pointless convoluted mess that could not have been saved, the way critics have seen the series all along – and I’m a true fan.

I hold ‘Saw VII’ (THE TRUE TITLE) lower than ‘Saw V’; it’s the only film in the series I consider worse than ‘Saw V’ – and fans know can exactly how bad that is.

More questions were presented than answered, this was a mess, I could go on for the entire weekend ranting about how upset I am with the franchise’s end – The video release better be a reworked version of the film, even then I’m ot sure this can be saved.

What happened to the ‘Saw’ films with heart? What happened to a ‘Saw’ film having a central theme? with a central trap character that was actually developed – that we actually cared about?

Saw. A series that I’ve spent the last 5 years diligently watching. I haven’t missed a midnight premier since Saw 3, being that i only discovered this awesome series by watching Saw 2 and then Saw 1 on DVD. Saw 3 was an amazing masterpiece of mind fucks and beautifully done horror. There was no gore in Saw 1. There was no gore in Saw 2. Saw 3 was no different. The film was classy, sophisticated and really blew me away when Jigsaw died. The worst gore in that film was the bone snaps, and the beheading of Lynn Denlon. Neither of which really sprayed blood everywhere, or did anything of the over the top gore and bad latex sort. Now when it comes to the remaining Saw films, 4 was Okay, but 5 was an awful memory. 6 Was arguably the best installment in the series, despite the coincidence of William’s death (had he been standing somewhere else, he could have lived). I feel like i’ve been cheated for 4 years. I’ve been calling that Dr. Gordon should be Jigsaw almost forever. The fact that Hoffman was such a disturbing pyschopath in the last 4 movies really took away from the atmosphere of having a genius with a warped view of humanity, as a serial killer. The traps were all too violent. There was no substance to them. Not like when we saw Jeff struggling to save people. Here it was just gore and stupid catches “he knew all your lies but told no one, now he can hear no evil” <- What the fuck is that? Come on. I’d say the traps were over the top. How do you set something like the public trap up without anyone noticing you dragging the bodies. What motivated Laurence Gordon to be Jigsaw? After what happened to him and his Family. Why didn’t he just say fuck it? I can’t imagine why he had to sew keys into peoples eyes and help kill Hoffman. Stupid. Why didn’t he prevent Jill’s death if he was watching Hoffman? How the hell did Hoffman kill an entire station full of higher ups while the cops were out patrolling, with nothing but that dinky knife?! This film is garbage. Nothing was explained, and the cheap 3D gimmick forced them to shoot alot of stupid directly in front of you shots, to make things look like they were coming out at you, when in reality, REAL D 3D doesn’t actually jump off the screen, just gives you “depth” of field. The whole film was a crock and i wish Gordon dispatched him in a more engenius way than just, “Oopsie guy, you shouldn’t have done all that bad stuff. Here’s three bodies, and my foot. Have a nice life.”

    It just makes me cringe.
You can tell they ran out of money near the end because the prosthesis looked so fucking fake. Kevin Gruetert succeeded in one thing with this film. Failing to follow up his last masterpiece, and then pissing on Saw’s botched burial with a revenge flick. Not Gordon’s or Hoffman’s revenge. But revenge for not being able to direct Paranormal Activity 2. Which personally, scared the living shit out of me.

    SPOILERS!!!!!
    SPOILERS!!!!!

    Pros:

#1) Finally in intro that doesn’t follow the pattern of the last few films

    #2) Nice Gore

    Cons:

#1) Horrible story! Seriously…could this thing be stretched any thinner? Dr. Gordon as the man behind everything past the ending of part 1???

#2) Extremely far fetched death traps. I mean, i’m all for death traps but these were just too much. I mean, who can orchestrate this stuff? How many animated Billy puppets can one or two men make? I miss the simplicity of the first two. Furnaces, needles, guns as traps. This stuff here is just ridiculous.

#3) Bad acting. The cop in this makes donnie walhberg look like Daniel Day Lewis. I can understand giving young actors a chance, but this guy was unwatchable. Poor casting all around.

First of all, let me say that I LOVE the first SAW. It’s one of my favorite films…EVER and probably always will be. I thought the story (and especially the ending) was perfect, and the endless sequels have over complicated and cheapened that original story. SO…I haven’t seen the sequels in the theater so not to financially support the madness.

I wanted to see SAW 3D because of my love for the first…I wanted to give it a fond farewell. When the opportunity for free tickets at Universal Orlando came up, I couldn’t pass.

Sooo….I really liked it! Not as good as the first 3, but definitely better than the last 3. I don’t think there was really any doubt as to how it was going to end, but I was fine with it not being a surprise because any other ending would NOT have been fitting. I got the same goosebumps at the end of this one that I got from the first one.

It did have some problems (as all SAWS do) but nothing that really bothered me too much. 3D wasn’t necessary, but wasn’t a distraction either. *SPOILER ALERT* I think it would have been nice if the main character would have been able to save his wife. She was a good person, and he did everything necessary in every trap to save the people around him. Jigsaw has always wanted people to survive his traps, and has always made that possible if you do what it necessary. I think it would have been a nice bit of closure. (Especially since group traps NEVER work)

Overall, it was a good movie and I honestly enjoyed every minute of it. As big of a mess as the series has been, they ended it very well and left me with a good feeling about the whole thing.

So I went to the 8 o’clock show on Thursday night and I must say that I have to review the film in two ways. One as an stand alone film, and the other as the conclusion to this great franchise. So as an stand alone film it was pretty intense. The opening trap really didn’t fit with the series and Chester Bennington’s trap would have been a much more effective opening. The traps were good but there were too many and a large portion of them involved poking or stabbing and after a few of those traps it made me miss previous greats like the Venus Fly Trap and the Knife Mask. The 3D was good but not as good as RE Afterlife. Dr. Gordon’s return was good but it seemed that Dunstan and Melton gave the internet fans EXACTLY what they wanted so the resolution of the film plays like something off of fanfiction. So that is my review of the stand alone film. Now as the so called conclusion of the franchise is concerned this was not the entry to stop at. Saw VI would have had more closure if Hoffman would have just died in the reverse bear trap. Saw 3D does answer some of the lingering questions but it opens an even bigger can of worms that will possibly never be answered. The Bobby Dagen storyline took up way too much time and the film didn’t feel like a finale until the last ten minutes. Up until that point it felt like just another Saw movie, which wouldn’t be a bad thing if Lionsgate didn’t insist this was the end. If the producers truly wanted this to be the end they should have extended the running time instead of having what seems to be a 90 minute limit. The only Saw films that go over 100 minutes are I and III. It would have been better if the storyline for VI was used for VII and the storyline for VII was used for VI. I hope that makes sense. For the final film of the franchise, it had the least to do with John. People complain Saw V ignores John but he still has a strong presence in the film. Saw VII is about everyone except John. This is a good movie and a nice addition to the franchise but it just shouldn’t be the last film in the series.

Okay this is how this goes. SPOILER ALERT

This movie does not live up to it’s hype. You would think that with it being the FINAL CHAPTER in a somewhat gripping series that it would have a gritty end and a storyline that blows your mind…..sorry but no.

Mistake 1: Dr. Gordon being behind everything from square 1. Completely predictable and completely far fetched. It’s like if someone made a 10 hour movie where you see a monster destroy a city just to find out it’s a little boy playing a video game. It’s pointless.

Mistake 2: If you’re gonna create a bad ass bad guy give him a PROPER END!! he basically ends up in a situation where he will die of hunger. Back in the bathroom for Saw 1.

Solution to mistake 1: Dr. Gordon should not have anything to do with this.

Solution to Mistake 2: ALL loose ends should have been brutally tied. Basically Jill and Hoffman should have ended up in a room and go out Western style with both of them dying a brutal death (as much as i love Jill) reason being because nobody shud be able to carry on Jigsaw’s legacy because nobody is worthy enough.

As for me being a fan of the saw series..after seeing this final installment all i can say for that…GAME OVER

I disagree with most of you i mean yeah dr gordon was the obvious move but its what saw fans wanted i think. I feel that it was a good movie with a killer ending….unfortunately I kinda figured what was gonna happen after seeing the opening scene. It has been 6 years (2004) when one movie started it all the movie that we all know as Saw .. a movie no one would ever think would have been dragged out and lasted until now (2010) , And would you believe that Saw has a world record for longest running horror franchise in history , and finally in this 7th entry.. the studio , the directors are claiming this is the last Saw , and i do not know weather to believe them or not. But some may concerns with the film , the 3D is just well , not there! .. the trailer makes it look like something is gonna grab you out of your seats or Saw will come flying at you , and the “Can you survive!” till the end , yes i think you can , But most of this stuff is just gimmicks i mean to be honest , it states that this was shot in State of the Art 3D!. Well .. i could not tell. Its sad really to go to all that effort and then for nothing. The actors you could have gotten from anywhere this down-rated B-Movie cast , is not the great , with this series hanging by a thread you would think , they would invest and pay for more better actors. But instead we get the runt of the litter , but i hate to complain about the movie like this , there are some parts of the film i actually found myself enjoying , but also the cheap and cheesy special effects are another thing , there are moments when you say to yourself , that is just cheap! , and it is , you can tell in the films opening trap.

The Story here is simple , Jigsaw who has been supposedly dead since the 3rd one! , still finds and manages way to show up in the films , but with him dead now all the dirty work is being left for his apprentice , Hoffman , an FBI agent who is about to be given away buy Jigsaw’s widow. But the film picks up where the last one the 6th left off , and to be honest i had totally forgot about that ending because it had been so long since i had seen the last saw film , and well thats just how easily you forget this movies after Halloween. But in the films opening trap , the director is trying to show us , that since this is the last one , they are gonna go out with a bang , i mean when they show a trap that is open to the public , there telling us that were not afraid to go above and behind , and i mean thats nifty don’t get me wrong anyway. When this author “claims” to have been inside a jigsaw trap and lived to tell the tale writes a book about what happen , and how he learned to live with it. But see as the movie progresses… you’ll see. He now has to face gruesome challenged and endeavor things hes never had to before if he wants to save his wife in under 60mins as the clock is ticking , Hoffman is still hellbent on getting Jigsaw’s widow and will stop at nothing until he gets here and finishes what he and Jigsaw started.

The only mild good thing going for this film , is its 3D effects , not saying they were great or anything , but some moments , are decent. But the film fails to grasp what it has going for it , i mean the traps are running on empty , i don’t think the film could survive another one , mainly because they have no other good ideas left. There are also some clever edge of your seat moments in the film , i’m not going to lie , i was pouncing at some moments in the films final moments , and some other rare moments , when there were only seconds to live or make something quick. Thats what all i really have to report. The bad is pretty much everything else , i mean you get these cheap actors , that no one has ever heard of. The only really good one is Tobin Bell who shows up for about 5mins total , its just boring the rest of the time , the movie feels like a major let down , i mean the Last! Saw film and thats how they want to end it , but granted , granted the ending was unique and clever and answered alot of Saw Questions , and they ended it in a way that well they shouldn’t have to make another one , but you never no , i will believe there are not making another one when i see it. But all in all the films cliche ending is pretty predictable to say the least.

Overall this Halloween season we have reached pretty much the end of the line , and my bearing point with these terrible horror films , but to say the least , the film has a satisfying ending to one of the most belated series out there. My Favorite saw film still remains the saw Saw II , Because that film had an effort going for it , and well i just liked it anyway. with the performances not even worth the price of admission , your better of just going and watching Paranormal Activity 2 , that will more likely scare you rather then this film. But i do have to give the film a Rent It , mainly because , well if you have seen the hundred other saw films , and this is the last one , you have to SEE IT!… i mean you can’t just stop with the last one , that would be pointless and stupid , but i hate to say tho it will be weird from no one with no Saw movies at the theater. The 3D effects are cheap and lazy and little to no effort was put

    NO SPOILERS

I’m a HUGE fan but now I’m really dissapointed

*There is no twists and surprises

*The games are repetitives and a poor version of the Wiliam games but without funny twists, drama, etc

*3D was negative for Saw style, this technology forced them to shoot shorter and more static scenes without intensity, killing the “saw feeling”

*The deaths are fast and bored.

*They haven’t good ideas and they did a fucking/cheesy/fast resolution.

    * The fact that Jigsaw appears on the screen for only 3 minutes is INSULTING

Not bad but am I the only one who wished Elwes involvement should have been left a secret? Also I have a much simpler way to have made the ending more effective. Remove the opening scene of gordon crawling out the bathroom and just go straight to the public trap. Remove Elwes from the support group scene. The rest of the movie goes on untouched. Hoffman makes a mad dash for escape… 3 little pigs show up and beat his ass. One removes his mask and its…gasp Gordon, cue the saw music THEN cut to the exiting the bathroom scene, Another removes their masks and its…..DOUBLE GASP.. MUTHERFUCKING DANNY GLOVER… CUE THE SAW MUSIC CUT TO JIGSAW PATCHING UP HIS GUNSHOT WOUND…. THEN the final pig mask is removed and its Gasp dettective Matthews son daniel…. They lock the bitch I mean Hoffman in the bathroom Game over run credits… What do you guys think? ( I also thought the other pigs could have been Gordons wife, and daughter either way would have been effective.

Though I thought the movie started off rather predictable and seemingly phoned-in, by the time the game starts, the movie quickly becomes a high-speed rollercoaster that never slows down. The second half of the film is as good as the best chapters of the Saw saga, and the last five minutes were DA BOMB! They were clearly crafted for true Saw fans to enjoy. The Saw story continued in glorious fashion, with even the ‘new’ elements smartly inserted into the mythos.

The only major detractor (remember: ignore your detractors) was the fact that the 3D was severly underutilized. The Saw traps could have made for very entertaining screen-popping eye candy, and yet they weren’t. As it was, they may as well have forgone the 3D altogether.

Ok. The #D was acceptable and not in your face. The thing that bothers me is that Jigsaw’s whole point was to find it inside you to make that choice between living and dying. Hoffman’s traps gave you no choice. They were doomed to fail from the beginning. At least with the earlier SAW’s you had to “man up” and take the challenge. These traps were basically impossible to win at. My only criticism. Traps were okay. SOOO, how about a a Viewers Choice Saw 8? Ahhhhh SAW… you come to your final conclusion. LOL yeah right.

we know this is not it. There prob will be more.

    When who knows.

But to the movie. This was by far the goriest most gut wrenching one yet. There was so many guts flying at you in 3D it wasn’t even funny. The plot was the SOS nothing new.

I was kind of disappointed with the very end.

    Spoilers::::::

Dr. G should killed that fucker Hoffman. Instead of locking his ass in the room.

    End Spoilers:::::

But it was a fun time still.

Very good movie for a final episode. The traps and gore are abundant and they tie up, most of the loose ends. The 3d aspect of the movie was decent, not overly spectacular. The story was solid, not great, but the last half of the movie really flows. The end was a minor letdown, but after seven movies what do you expect?

This movie was friggin sweet. I was like the youngest one at the Theater when i saw it (i’m 13)
I love the saw series and i’ve been watching them since i was in 4th grade. I don’t want to spoil anything for people who haven’t seen this movie but i can say one thing: This movie will leave you begging for more.
Throughout the last few Saw movies (even though he’s the killer) i really like Hoffman. This movie was by far the best Saw and i can garuntee(i hope) there’s more of these movies to come

    *Warning Spoilers lie ahead*

Saw is my Friday the 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc. Being a late 80s baby I didn’t become a teen until the early 2000s. It was here that I discovered the original Saw and became a fan, eventually seeing each one in theaters. Despite believing the series truly hit its peak at 3, I’ve stayed with the series because well, I consider myself a loyal fan. Plus 4 and 6 were alright, and 5 was not terrible enough for me to completely loathe it. Suffice it to say though, I am throughly disappointed and completely underwhelmed by Saw 3D, Saw 7, Saw The Final Chapter or Saw: Why Does This Movie Have So Many Damn Names. Whichever title happens to tickle your fancy.

This film has touted 2 main points, the 3D and the fact that this is, WITHOUT A DOUBT (snicker snicker) the final Saw film. I’ll go ahead and knock the 3D out of the way; it was fine for what it is. It neither added nor detracted from the film.

Now on to my major problems, which start with the claim that the film is the final Saw. Saw has had a long and expansive journey. Some would even say a unnecessary and confusing one. Considering that point, one of the major things that bothered me was, this in no way felt like a final movie. Since Saw has this huge universe that has expanded over 7 movies, where are all the stops? Where’s all the fan service? Where’s Amanda? Where’s more Adam? Why is Dr. Gordan in only 3 scenes and OF ALL PEOPLE, Jigsaw only in TWO scenes? Are you fucking kidding me? Jigsaw, Gordan, Amanda, etc. should’ve been ALL OVER this movie but instead we get essentially what breaks down to no appearance or even mention of Amanda and basically cameo roles for the other two.

But, allow me discuss the storylines that were present. First of all, the Bobby Dagen (spelling that right? Oh who cares.) storyline is pointless. Why is it in the film? It places no beating on the other storyline and simply serves the same function that the games in Saw V had, time filler. I mean besides the blind/hangman trap, none of the traps involved in this game were good or memorable. I understand why Jigsaw would go want this guy to pay for what he has done but this whole storyline seems much better suited for an earlier Saw film, certainly not the “final one”. Also, that first trap has no reason to be in the film. Every starting trap in every film, even in V, played some significance to that film’s story. This one? Nope.

The main storyline however, was alright. Not great…but okay. Some more questions though. Why does Jill go from confident badass at the end of part 6 to a sniveling crying wimp in this one? Makes no sense. And then there is Dr. Gordan’s involvement. People were calling this back when Saw 2 came out. What an anti-climatic reveal. Wouldn’t Dr. Gordan be pissed at Jigsaw? Didn’t he cut his foot off so he could go to his family? Whatever happened to them? Nah, we’re just supposed to buy that he patted Jigsaw on the back and told him everything was forgiven and start working for him. Way too obvious and way too hokey.

As for technical aspects, the film looks bland. Kevin G. did a great job with 6 but what the fuck happened here? There’s no flair or style to this film and I’m starting to better apprecite the DLB entries to the series, his films were always interesting to look at. Maybe this has something to do with David Armstrong finally leaving as DP, who knows?

So obviously, I am disappointed. Saw is my generations horror franchise and this “final” film let me down tremendously. And, in all honestly most of it is because what the film provides does not match the claim of this being the final film. It’s obvious that in another 10 years or so we’ll have another Saw, even if it’s a remake of the first one or two. Personally though the series needs to be left alone. Enough is indeed enough.

I really enjoyed this movie. Every other franchise horror film always went supernatural, satanic, or just over the top with there story. I have to say that the writers of saw have keep us on the same track the whole time and have not disappointed me. The traps in the last film were interesting but I do understand that they were made by Detective Hoffman and not Jigsaw ( or at least that was what I thought while watching the film.) The 3D really did nothing for me so didn’t matter to me. Good movie, great franchise. Check it out.

I loved this movie!! I don’t believe this is the final movie, but if so, they did a good job of ending the franchise. The only thing I would change is there should have been more Amanda and more of a back story regarding Dr. Gordan. I loved Hoffman. Hell, Hoffman should have had a franchise of his own. He would give Jason some good competition.

I really enjoyed it but I did have a couple questions after it ended.. Was disappointed only to see a few minutes of jigsaw and no amanda. I will miss these movies.. I remember seeing the original with my friends back in 03 and walking out of the theatre just blown away.. I felt like I had seen the greatest horror movie ever.. i’ll always love these films.. even the crappy 4th installment.. will they actually make a Saw 8 in the future? I think so..

The ending was ambiguous as hell. It wont be the last one guaranteed. Putting the word “FINAL” in the title or marketing of a film doesn’t mean shit…especially in the horror genre. The movies are cheap to make and there’s money to be had.

as far as the saw movies go. I usually ALWAYS like the artistic view and creativity on the torture devices, and watch the saw movies for that reason alone. I don’t care about the acting, Don’t care about the cast, Don’t care about the dialog. I watch it for the gore. and in THAT aspect alone, they rock.

It was one of the better sequels although the 3d sucked. It was a good end but I definitely see it keep going too. I hate that (SPOILER) Jill(Betsy Russell) died at the end though.I was hoping she would take Hoffman down. My Saw’s from best to worst. 6,3,2,7,1,5,4. So its in the middle.I’m not nor have I ever been a huge Saw fan or any torture, I’m a slasher/suspense horror freak not blood. So of course Paranormal Activity 2 was way better to me and I’m very interested in seeing it continue and learn what happens with Katie and Hunter and put these characters down once and for all.RIP Saw.

    *Slight Spoilers Throughout This Review*

Saw 3D was not a disappointment but did leave a nasty taste in my mouth. You can see the franchise is solely relying on the traps to carry these movies rather than the plot itself. I am after all a huge fan and thought the original Saw reinvented the modern horror movie genre itself.

    The Cons:

The opening scene was a massive let down compared to the previous installments. How on earth could such an elaborate set up in a city centre not by evaded by the local authorities?? This scene alone to me did not set the rest of the movie in good stead.

The plot itself was irritatingly confusing in parts and the “twist” came as no surprise. I was excited to see Cary Elwes was to reprise his role, however he was a slight non entity to the movie itself.

The 3D was good although not “Groundbreaking” as advertised. It did give more depth of field in general but some of the cheap “Guts in ur face shots” were slightly laughable and CGI’d to the max. This aside the 3D was far better than the recent Piranha 3D proving that it is coming along in leaps and bounds.

    The Pro’s

Saw 3D is well acted and has no pacing issues, does keep your interest throughout. It has the highest body count of all the franchise and in my opinion some of the best traps. Simple, effective and ingeniously executed. The “Go fish for a key” scene was by far the most uncomfortable to watch. It made me feel sick to my stomach to the point I thought I was going to chunder into my pop corn. Vile!!

Finally, we get to see the reverse bear trap in all of it’s gory glory. The make up effects in this scene are simply outstanding.

    To summarise.

Although Saw 3D has many flaws it does exactly what it say’s on tin. I do hope this is the last one as I think they have milked the franchise to completion. It does wrap up in a lukewarm manner but still leaves it open for further movies.

Please guy’s lets just let Jigsaw rest in pieces now. It’s time to put ur heads together and come up with a new horror icon.

    Wow. just wow!
seriously, i thought Saw 3D was absolutely awesome!
wasn’t quite sure how well the 3D would work or how much they’d play up to it but it was fine. wouldn’t say the 3D-ness was amazing but some parts it worked well.
I found the whole story very interesting even if it is just basic, a whole lot more than some of the previous entries but it ties together all of the loose ends from the series perfectly.
Hoffman was delightfully evil as usual, Jill was intense and perfectly played by the actress (I cannot remember her name for my life!) and the lead actor who played our ‘hero’ was good too.
And obviously the traps were just epic. I was told they weren’t going to be as gory. Well…whoever said that needs words with themselves. Saw 3D’s traps were gorier than ever. And better for it.
I won’t say what they were as it’ll just ruin the experience for people who haven’t yet seen it. :]
And finally, the ending was just perfect. I was SO happy. Obviously, I won’t reveal it as that would be oh-so-rude.

If I really had to be picky, the only thing I would say is there are a few TINY things throughout that would no doubt be looked into if it happened in real life. Things going missing which really wouldn’t be left unattended etc but they’re so minute that it didn’t damage the movie at all.

So, overall I’d give the last Saw installment a definitive 10/10. A perfect ending to an epic series.

Saw will most definately be missed!

dont see unless you pay attention to detail and have seen the original up to 6. soooo many things still left unanswered, despite what people say. we never hear from dr. gordon’s family, the daughter from saw 3 is never showed, even though the end of six after the credits hints that she’ll play a major part,

    SPOILERS.

and it doesn’t even say who is with dr. gordon in the pig masks at the end. if it’s other survivors than i guess all the survivors are in association with jigsaw.

atmosphere also didn’t feel right and i miss a lot of the more simple traps from the first few movies, these all seem too complex to work which makes them less scary.

other than that good movie, cool ending.

Def one of the better Saw films, but I don’t think it was really necessary to have it in 3D. There were only a few “3D scenes” It was a little confusing because you forget who some of the survivors are if you haven’t seen some of the movies in years. I think the ending left the Saw francise open for more sequels. So you can look forward to a saw 10000 coming out. lol.

If you’re a fan of the series, Saw 3D offers pretty much more of the same, and a fitting conclusion to the storyline. It may be a bit implausible, the dialogue is clunky as hell, and a bit of the gore is way to campy to be taken seriously like the other movies in the series…but this movie does no harm to the series. The 3D is superior to other movies in the genre namely Piranha 3D as it isn’t post converted, but it’s not on the same level as say Avatar or Resident Evil 3D. So basically this, if you like the Saw series, and expect little..this movie will deliver.

    ******Spoiler Alert*****
I was so happy to see Cary Elwes! I do agree that the first trap while being cool didn’t fit the rest of the movie and the “racists” trap would have been an amazing opening. Some of the traps were tame while others, like the “quiet” trap, were pretty bad ass. The whole movie entertained me and kept me glued to the screen. And then the ending started to unwind and once the movie ended my friend and I were like, “Sweet!! Yay!! As you wish Cary!! As you wish!! GAME OVER!!” There were less than 10 people in the crowd (Thursday night) but I stood up and clapped! I was so happy that it ended the way it did, it showed that the whole series is so much smarter than most people give it credit 4. Saw 1 and 2 were great movies, 3,4,5, were decent then 6 strated the climb back up to the top and it ended on a huge high note with 7 :) Rarely have I been so happy about the ending of a movie!

I was dissapointed to say the least . The story was poor , i mean the way it came across to me and the rest of my friends and my wife , Lionsgate gathered their people round a table and wanted this movie to happen because they wanted to rinse more money out of us! The 3D is very poor there isnt that much of it to wow the viewer the acting is total crap in places . Hoffman Gill And the Man himself tobin bell carry the whole movie on their shoulders there fellow cast members are to “oh look at me im in saw!”im going in to spoilers now. The story is that a jigsaw survivor writes a book on how he survived the game and traps the book is a huge sucess but based on a lie , and john (jigsaw) knows everything . the usual stuff happens and it is very tame and should of passed for a 15 cert anyway the entire time dr gorden was in on it . for me it ruined to waht was up till now a fantastic series of movies id wait for the dvd when its a fiver in a sale !!

The lack of plot and story backbone (excuse the pun) really let the Saw finale down. Each movie has managed to add significantly to the Jigsaw universe, mythos and philosophical stance of John (Jigsaw). Most of the previous films were edge of your seat horror/gore with a delicious dose of warped philosophy/psychology thrown in. The relatively absent Tobin Bell was a huge mistake and the final revelation (in keeping with the traditional crescendo of each film) was quite yawn worthy. The contraptions lacked the elegance of the previous Rubik’s cube style traps and the absence of any solid moral narrative failed the film greatly. Whilst some horror fans may not be so keen on social commentary, the twisted and yet methodical insights of Jigsaw were always a compelling part of the franchise. The film only came close to social commentary when a victim was publicly slaughtered whilst the seething crowd stood transfixed with their camera phones. An unfortunate end to a truly remarkable series of deliciously demented movies.

The ‘final’ installment had excellent traps, and I actually quite enjoyed the 3D aspect of it for the couple of jumpy moments it provided… but I’m not sure how I feel about the rest of it. The character of Bobby was not one I felt like watching for a whole film simply because it didn’t seem like Jigsaw had any intentions of improving his life, simply destroying it. I suppose the consistency in Jigsaw’s ethics has been less and less present in each film (possibly to do with his handing the reins to the accomplice) but this particular film seemed to lack the ethics all together and to me. It made the film seem more like pure torture porn rather than well-written and enjoyable, with torture that was there for a reason.

I did like how it tied up some loose ends but I can’t help but feel it has set itself up for continuation should it make enough money. That said, I don’t think the money it requires will come from Australia, since down here it’s rated R and not that many people are seeing it as a result.

Good 3D, good traps. Not such a good vibe. So, 6/10.

A fitting end to a unique series. I for one have enjoyed the films as much for the developing mystery and unbearable tension as for the ingeniously depraved and gore-filled traps. The 3D, although not really neccessary, worked well as I didn’t find it as nausea-inducing as I have in other films. The traps were all fittingly OTT and I was satisfied with the ending. Overall, still not as good as the original, but on a par with the best of the franchise.

Jigsaw definitely saved the best for last. A lot of loose ends are tied up. All the pieces now fit together. The final chapter has everything you could ask for in a Saw film. It did seem a little rushed, but it was very suspenseful. I loved all the new traps and twists. The only flaw is that Tobin Bell didn’t have enough screen-time as Jigsaw, but you may not notice because of all the new games being played. It was good to see Cary Elwes back as the infamous Dr. Gordon. Hoffman has become more of a serial killer this time and tries to find Jill. An author named Bobby Dagen has written a book about how he survived a Jigsaw trap, but it’s all a lie. When Bobby is really thrust into a game, he has sixty minutes to save his wife, or she will die. The Saw franchise has had a good run. I’ll miss seeing them at the theater every year. I highly recommend SAW: THE FINAL CHAPTER

Well, the end has finally ccome. It has been a great 7 years of SAW. I knew that the end was near after the 6th one, but I didn’t know that they were going to wrap it up in just one minute. Let me just say that I am a HUGE SAW fan! I own some props from the movie and autographs. I was so excited for this movie that I watched the trailer like 5 times a day. Here is my review: The first scene was awesome! The recap of the first movie when Adam played the Zepp tape and Jigsaw walking out and saying “GAME OVER”. Then, we see Dr. Gordon limping through the “sewer” and he puts his stub of a leg on a hot pipe to stop the bleeding. Then we see a recap of Hoffman’s Reverse Bear Trap and Jill running from him. Then comes the first trap! I loved the concept of a trap in public! But, I still don’t like the idea of killing someone in order for yourself to live or someone else to live. Also, the actors were just a little too kiddish but they did a great job. Throughout the movie we have some new detectives and cips. Detective Gibson is really a cool guy but he is too comical. He kinda cracks jokes at the bad moment. But, he was really down to Earth….kinda.. This movie is based on two-things. 1: Hoffman is trying to find and kill Jill while to police are after him. 2: Booby Deagen has written a book about “his trap” and how he won and overcame Jigsaw. However, Jigsaw knows that Bobby has never been in a trap so now Bobby must go through a series of traps to save his friends, business partners, and his wife. I’m not going to go through the whole movie and explain what happens, but I am going to highlight my favorite parts. First, the CAR TRAP. It was a really gruesome trap and had a eerie look. Anywho, it ends with blood and 4 people dead. I like the last trap that Bobby has to overcome. It is the trap that he claimed he has already overcome. He has to insert hooks into his chest muscles and pull himself up and hook these cords together before the time ran out so he could save his wife. What happens after that, is very cruel and gruesome. I really didn’t like that his wife died because she didn’t really do anything. But, she was symballic to his rewards for cheating the public. Hoffman, is really bad-ass in this movie. He pretty much kills everyone who gets in his way and he has a cool scheme that helps him get to Jill. This part I love but hate at the same time. I like how when he reaches Jill, he knocks her out and puts her in the Reverse Bear Trap (old one, the one that Amanda had on in the first one). The part I didn’t like is how she died, because she was my favorite character and she didn’t deserve to die. Now, what I am about to say may ruin the series for the people who haven’t seen the movie. Now, when Hoffman kills Jill, he leaves and goes to the workshop where he burns all evidence of Jigsaw. He is now planning on leaving and starting a new life. But, as he tries to escape, 3 pig mask people capture him and knock him out. We then find out that the one who knocked him out was no other than Dr.Gordon. We then learn that Jill dropped an envelope in Dr. Gordon’s office that contained a tape that Jigsaw made. The tape tells Dr. Gordon that he helped him with some traps and that Jigsaw wants to make sure nothing happens to Jill and if she dies, kill Hoffman. The the moment every SAW fan dreams of. We cut to the legendary Bathroom were Hoffman is chained up and a SAW is laying infront of him. Dr.Gordon takes the saw before Hoffman can get to it and he says, “I don’t think so.” then he throws the SAW so Hoffman can’t use it to escape. Dr. Gordon slowly walks out of the Bathroom and he quickly looks at the cutt-off foot and he then turns off the bathroom light and says……”GAME OVER”!!!!. This concludes SAW 3D. I really liked this movie, but there were pros and cons. First, the 3D was great but a little too tacky. The movie pretty much wrapped up, but there is always a chance that Hoffman could have escaped the bathroom but it is highly doubtful. I just hope this is the final SAW. Also, I wished Jigsaw had a bigger role. The movie could have had more Jill and Hoffman and Dr. Gordon. Instead, the movie was basically had too much Bobby. Well, I almost cried a little when it all ended, but It was a great 7 movies. Yes, people were getting tired, but you have to enjoy the traps and plot twists. Well, I give this movie a 7.5 out of 10. I give the series a 10/10. All I can say now is…Bring on the remake! haha SAW FOREVER!!!

(This could technically be considered a review of the entire ‘Saw’ series, I guess).

One thing I’ve seen tons of horror fans complain about is the lack of Jigsaw onscreen for the last four movies. Personally, the fact that Tobin Bell is featured less and less and his role is slowly taken over by Costas Mandylor is one of my favorite parts of this franchise. The movies aren’t really about Jigsaw, or, to be honest, his legacy. Yes, the first three films center around him, as does most of the fourth, but the transition of Jigsaw Killers from Kramer to Amanda to Hoffman shows that the series really had a life cycle of its own, and as the years went by, it progressed into something different with every film.

Yes, these movies contain a plethora of gore, but to call this simply a horror franchise doesn’t do the writers justice. It’s definitely a series of crime/thrillers, with torture being the theme. Sure, it seems to slightly want to remake ‘Seven’ in the ‘you do it yourself’ factor, but the storylines really help the movies stand alone.

The first ‘Saw’ came in at around 100 minutes, but it felt a lot longer than that. The plot was weak, the acting and casting stunk, and Cary Elwes’ accent was slipping, which was really annoying. It was really amateur filmmaking, and I would’ve found it better had it been direct-to-DVD, but since it was released to theaters and grossed around 55 million dollars, my expectations were that of a good movie. But ‘Saw’ wasn’t a good movie in any respects, and was at best a really boring, okay movie.

‘Saw II’ suffered from the exact same pacing problems as the first, even if the acting was a step up, save a few of the convicts in the house. Shawnee Smith, of course, stole the show, Marky Mark’s brother yelled a lot, and Dina Meyers was just there. Tobin Bell is always a good actor, even in the ridiculously horrid ‘Boogeyman 2′, so I have no problems with him. The movie ran too long, had a story that was dead before the 30 minute mark, and failed to hold my interest.

My personal favorite of the series, ‘Saw III’ did what the first two failed to do, and added depth and emotion. I fell for Bahar Soomekh’s character, fucking hated Hoffman from the start, felt for Amanda, and was genuinely intrigued by the slight backstory they gave for Jigsaw. All I need to say about Angus Macfadyen is that he’s fat and annoying. The traps were innovative, I liked that the central character was involved in most of them, and my all-time favorite ‘Saw’ trap, The Rack, made its appearance. I was never bored by this movie, even though it ran longer than the previous two.

‘Saw IV’ was a bit of a lull, however not nearly as much as I & II. I’m only saying that compared to III. Rigg as the central character disappointed me, as I never found him interesting. Art Blank’s involvement was forgettable, as were most of the other victims in this entry. I did like Lindsey Perez and Strahm, but I don’t like that Strahm became as important to the series as he did. This movie probably has my favorite twist of the series, as it introduces my favorite character in the films, Hoffman, as the new Jigsaw.

Boy was ‘Saw V’ a stinker. I appreciate absolutely nothing about this movie. None of the traps were inventive, none of the characters felt like people I needed to invest my time in (not even Hoffman), the side story with the five people involved in the house or whatever didn’t hold my attention, and Julie Benz was annoying. ‘Nuff said.

The sixth film definitely redeemed the series for me, as ‘Saw V’ left me pretty hopeless about the future of ‘Saw’. To begin with, the traps were pretty badass, especially the Carousel one. The thought of the choices William Easton had to make was very effective, and the characters were surprisingly likable, even if they deserved what they got. I liked that Tobin Bell was featured a little less in this movie than the previous five, as, like I said, I like how the movies eventually evolved into something bigger than John Kramer. The end was a little disappointed, only because I can’t stand Betsy Russell or her character.

And finally, the ever-so-disappointed finale. Cary Elwes comes back for a laughable cameo, Jill Tuck has a way-too-predictable death, the end doesn’t have nearly enough of a buildup, the inclusion of 3D is absolutely unnecessary, the central story and Bobby Dagen are forgettable, and my favorite character in this movie is Joyce, the wife of Dagen. I do have to say that the traps were incredibly horrifying and cringe-inducing. But ultimately, it’s in the bottom three of the seven, being beaten out by Saws III, VI, IV, and the first.

So for my individual ratings of the seven films –

    Saw – 7/10
    Saw II – 6/10
    Saw III – 8/10
    Saw IV – 7/10
    Saw V – 5/10
    Saw VI – 7/10
    Saw 3D – 6/10

My overall rating for the franchise is 6/10

The overall story is fun to follow from start to finish, even with one or two 90 minute lulls. I’ll miss it, that’s for sure.

After watching Saw 7 a second time(this time sober)I have come to appreciate it a bit more. Unlike its predecessor Saw 6, which is one of the best in the series-this one I thought was a bit rushed but hearing the interviews and whatnot I already expected them to put Saw 7 & 8 story lines together and expect the squeeze to fit. It failed miserably mainly because it was too rushed-some traps weren’t adequately explained etc. Getting past all of that I loved the continuation of Hoffman as the new Jigsaw! He was twice and fucked up and cruel as he was in the previous which was awesome b/c he embodied a true madman. I loved most of the traps though I think there could have been more-least to say it sufficed. My favorite part of the film however, was the return of Dr. Gordon! Who was always one of my favorite characters. Also cool were the brief cameos of previous SAW survivors(no Daniel though). All in all the ending was great and to be honest this film would’ve been nothing without Hoffman and Gordon. The 3D was just distracting so I can’t wait for the DVD and hope and pray there are many extended and deleted scenes.

Frankly, I was let down by this final chapter. After the series high of Part 6, this should have been awesome but it fell way short of the mark. Even the effects weren’t that great. What was up with the pink blood ? As far as wrapping the story up, it was OK and I wish a certain female character didn’t die and seeing Dr Gordon again was OK, but the game itself this time around wasn’t that engaging. I’m not a Saw die hard but more of a casual viewer so I’m not all that concerned that this didn’t live up to my expectations, but if I were a more dedicated follower I would be unimpressed with Jigsaws last outing. Speaking of, the main is hardly in it, save for one scene. That’s another of the films problems. Series regulars will definitely get a kick out of this but for newcomers you’re not missing anything.

Some people flat-out worship the seventh third-dimensional installment in the prolonging series while some loathe it in every department. I stand right in the middle. For every little thing I liked about this song, the next I disliked. Let’s cut to the chase, shall we?

If all you’re expecting to see from this sequel are clever traps, some of the goriest torture scenes in history, and gimmicky 3D, then those fourteen dollars you’ll be spending will be worth it. This is probably the goriest Saw movie, for those of you saying it lacked guts, don’t kid yourself. There’s flying intestines, jaw snaps, pulled teeth, eye gouging. Yeah, it’s just Alice in Wonderland! (sarcasm). Furthermore, the 3D was good. It was filmed rather than post-converted and it shows. As for those saying the 3D was bad, again, stop lying. The 3D had real depth, everything was pretty much flying at your face, and it wasn’t half-bad.

Also, the fact that Dr. Gordon makes a return certainly helps matters. However, the acting is very insipid and truly uninspired. Even for a “Saw” movie, the acting wasn’t passable. Moreover, the dialogue is very amateur. Not only that but I found the ending wholly unsatisfying and rather than finishing the series, it’s like they answered every question, yet left a few more at the door.

All in all, I thought Saw 3D was passable. Not good. Not bad. Just a popcorn flick with a B-flick vibe to it. The traps, gore, 3D, and Dr. Gordon’s return are bonuses, but if this is the last Saw movie, that’s a tad disappointing.

I thought this was a great conclusion to an awsome and brillient franchise. I admit i saw the ending coming but i still liked it. great acting , great directing, and i was so happy they brought Dr.Gordon back i thought he and john kramer AKA jigsaw were in the movie just enough. i mean john’s story was complete in parts 2-6. and i really wanted know what really happened to dr. gordon. so i thought the ending was a great way to end the franchise. all the questions have been answered. maybe the directors cut will be longer atleast that’s what i am hopeing. I don’t really see a reason to make a saw 8 but hey that’s just my opinion.

While the Saw franchise itself, has likely continued on well past the point of being entirely relevant, it still remains a favorite of mine. The rather simple premise of people being tested by horrific traps, followed by clever plot twists that wrap up the stories became like a yearly ritual.

I can say that Saw 3D, the purported last of the Saw franchise, does enough to wrap up the main franchise, while at least making it back to the quality of the first two Saw movies. I should not that I saw this on blue-ray, but in 2D (3D tv….. seriously?) so I cannot comment on the use of 3D or whether it was clever and added to the movie or not.

It was nice to see all of the main players at least shown either in flashbacks, or reprising their roles and certainly Carey Elwes being back really added to that full circle feel that they were looking for. The premise is the same, as the killer Detective goes about trying to wrap up his and Jigsaw’s work before the game is finally open. Strangely, this movie marked the first Saw movie where I figured out was going on fairly early into the movie. Having said that, the ending was a solid addition and I didn’t actually see that one coming.

The production values were solid, the acting about on par with previous installments and if you are a fan of the Saw films, or just want to see how it ends, then this one is worth watching.

Saw has been a highlight for the past decade in the horror industry. The first was a jaw dropping masterpiece. But like any series the originality and quality lost steam. Fortunately though SAW 3D the “Grand Finale” provides a fitting closing on the series. First off, Finally we find out what the hell happened to DR. Gordon. Which I think was the only way to put the finishing touches on the series. I personally couldn’t bear not knowing what happened to him, so I’m glad they wrapped up that loose end. The acting wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything to earn bragging rights. The script was mediocre but it was to almost be suspected being the 7th entry in the series. The Twist was predictable but it was the proper conclusion. Overall, One of the brighter series in the horror genre of the past 20 years and it ended on a fitting note. Good bye SAW!!!!!!!

I’ve been a fan of Saw ever since I saw the first one, I’ve followed all of them excitedly and have never given up or got bored (I even thought Saw V was OK, though the worst) and so watching the final Saw was a mixture of excitement and sadness, but all good things must come to an end.

Saw: The Final Chapter is not the best Saw by any means, I still believe that Saw IV is the best of the Saws, but this is certainly one of the better ones. The opening was something quite different, breaking away from the low key lighting cliches, the saw traps usually offer, and it was certainly different to have it out in public, if not a little uncomforttable. But this first trap gets it off to a great start. My only complaint would be it looked quite fake and the gore in the Saw series has usually looked quite realistic but in some places here, throughout the film, it did look at little fake.

Saying that, this has some of the best gore Saw has offered! Every trap is original and really exciting to watch. I loved them all. The finale was great (don’t worry I won’t spoil it for you) and the game really does come full circle which is a beautiful way to end it. The final twist really did make me gasp in awe of the cleverness. This really is an intelligent installment.

The main character was a bitch (if you can call a man a bitch) I didn’t like him much and I don’t feel that his journey made him learn much, which is what I really liked in Saw VI, the characters journey was wonderful. This storyline felt like it was treading on similar themes but didn’t do it as well.

However, this is a fun, bloody sequel that brings the series to a magnificent end. When the music plays for the final time you can’t help but weep a little bit in sadness. It didn’t disappoint, and if you are a loyal follower of the series, it shouldn’t disappoint you either.

Goodbye Saw. Halloween will never be the same without you :’(

What a great final movie for Saw series.I didnt saw this in 3D.Bobby Bagen was great victim but he was not so good helping other victims unfortunaly.Hoffman was more mastermind of killing and traps than John Kramer was.I liked that cops tries to hunt down Hoffman.

It was nice suprise to see again Dr Gordon but he was only in two scenes wich is lame.Traps were great especially car trap and public trap.Jill got what she deserved noboby piss off Hoffman expect Gordon.

Ending was really great.(First Saw got little bit better ending).SPOILER:Gordon putted to end Hoffman crazy killings.

Films 2-5 of the “Saw” movie saga were boring, bland, and examples of torture pornography. I hate torture pornography; especially when it looks and feels so bad. As you may know, I enjoyed “Saw VI”. It was well-made, entertaining, and left something to actually HAPPEN in the final chapter of the saga. But alas, stuff does happen. But it’s nothing of interest.

I’m just going to come out and say it: “Saw VII” sucks. It just plain sucks. From the way it was presented visually to the horribly directed trap scenes. You’d think that the guy who directed “VI”, one of the best installments in the series, could do better.

My personal theory is that “Saw VII” is his revenge on the studio for pretty much FORCING him into directing it. He clearly put little effort or passion into making Jigsaw’s 3D send-off entertaining, interesting, or you know: SATISFYING.

This is one of the worst films I saw in 2010, and the worst film in the franchise. It sort of ties with that monstrosity in crap-filmmaking that was “Saw V”, but by this installment, does anyone intelligent really care?

Hoffman continues the game that Jigsaw started and must cover up all his tracks. After surviving a trap himself, he sets out to kill the person who put him in it. Jigsaw’s wife, Jill.

I went into Saw 3d with mixed excitement. The last few Saw films have gotten more outrageous than the last and even more complicated. Even though Saw VI was a step up, I didn’t expect them to keep it up. Much to my surprise, Saw 3D is one of the best entries in the series. So what can you expect from this one? Well, elaborate traps, blood and gore and of course twists. Exactly what the series has always been, but this time it was fun. The 3D aspect didn’t add much, it was used to throw things at the screen in whichever trap.

Dr. Gordon from the original returns here, we finally get to see what happened to him after he sawed off his own foot. Why bring him back now? His screen time is significantly short, yet adds more layers to the already convoluted series. For me, I separate the first film from the others. I still think it stands alone in terms of story. It was never meant to be a series that has gone on this long, but I am interested and intrigued at how they continued it and branched it off into what we see every Halloween.

I still say that the most shocking ending was the first, with the second one right behind it. The rest became routine and this one is no exception. The kills however are the highlight. They are gory as hell, probably the goriest in the whole series. I was laughing and cheering with each death. Finally we have people working together in a trap and finally we get to see the original bear trap around the face work. It’s been 7 or so years, but it finally worked.

The film follows two story lines. In one Hoffman is trying to get revenge on Jill. In the other Sean Patrick Flanery must go through a bunch of traps to save his friends and loved ones. This structure follows Saw III and Saw VI. I’m not complaining because both of those entries were decent. Each trap he comes to he sees someone that has helped him earn money from his lie. Each attempt at saving them either will end in success or failure. Since this is Saw and as I mentioned, one of the bloodiest ones yet, you can imagine what his success rate is.

I would also love to thank the editor, for once this film decides to ditch the hyper kinetic editing style. We can actually see what’s going on now. There is one small scene where it is still employed, but the trap is very minimal that you don’t care. It might have taken 7 films to finally realize that it was useless and distracting, but they did it.

I had a really fun time watching this entry and I hope it is the last, as they say it is. They said that about VI, but it was left open for another entry. This one seems to tie everything up, but there is always that chance, they could possibly continue the series, but with how things turned out I would simply beg the question why? I did that 4 films ago, but they were still intriguing at some level. Look to any other horror series that has more than 4 films and the quality dips drastically. Saw doesn’t. Sure, they had some weak points V was pretty lame, but in the end, they all had some redeeming qualities about them. They all were connected on some form and it feels like one long story because they always pick up exactly where the previous one left off. My main interest in this series, aside from the gory deaths, would be to see how well they connect all the films.

I would have liked to have seen more characters make it through more films. It seems with each new one there is a new detective. At the same time there are so many characters from the previous films that I don’t know which film they appeared in. They all seem to blend together and none of them stand out. The series should have ended with VI, it was the one that closed the series well. Change the ending to it and everything could have been great. Saw 3D ties up whatever loose ends Saw VI had. The Saw series was never made for critics, it is clearly a genre and fan tailored series. This entry will please those fans.

Starts with Elwes cauterizing his wound on a hot pipe. He’s going after cheating kids now. In public. Same damn structure. Mandylor’s not as gory as he should be. Random shots of bitchy women. A saw survivor is interviewed…he was very much helped by the experience apparently. Linkin Park is in this movie. Some quite reasonable gore. This is gonna be all survivor’s stories. Elwes shows up with a Batman voice. Flannery lied about being in a trap, so Saw puts him in a trap. People are really buying into Jigsaw’s philosophy. Cop thinks lady Saw is crazy. Crazy. He is also a bad actor. Why does Flannery need to be taught a lesson? It’s just alot of women screaming “help me Bobby!” Mandylor gives clues in the form of bad poetry, and the cops understand it somehow. These traps are all just about balancing and such. Mandylor loves to stab under the chin. Who are the pig people? Marquis de Saw.

Saw 3D is finally back to it’s gory roots after the success of Saw 6. For me I chose this as the best Saw film because this movie brought the series into a new direction while Saw 6 was a great film with lots of suspense and inventive gore. Saw 3D is really serious with the over the top violence and gore that made this movie come to life. What I did like about this film is that the plot is incredible and I personally enjoyed the film from start to finish. It has everything you need for a Saw movie. From start to finish the movie is brutal and intense. What’s great about this movie is that the movie has inventive suspense and it also has great moments that will amp up your adrenaline and it also has some of the best traps. Speaking of traps all the traps in this movie are wicked crazy. The Junkyard trap was the best trap I’ve ever seen you got the lead vocalist from Linking Park as one of the victims in the trap and he was really good when he was screaming in pain during the sequence when he was trying to reach the lever to stop the trap I did enjoy that trap and it was my personal favorite trap the most in the movie because it was inventive and brutal at the same time plus the love triangle trap is the best trap as well in Saw 3D. I like the love triangle trap because that trap is intense and gruesome at the same time I like the way the two guys save themselves from the trap when they chose to save their own selves and let the girl die it was pretty gruesome to watch that scene and it was icky and gross at the same time I’ll never forget those two traps. The rest of the traps were also good I personally enjoyed the seeing trap where the girl gets her eyes and mouth impaled from the three spikes when Bobby fails to save her I would say Dario Argento would be proud if he watched the film and believe me if Lucio Fulci was still alive he will enjoy this movie and I wonder what he has to say about those traps in the Saw films if he was still alive I bet that he’s gonna enjoy all of the traps in the movie. Now the acting is great all the casts did a good job with their performances in the film and everyone even Cary Elwes from the first Saw movie did a good job with their performances. But this movie has one problem though. The problem with this movie is basically the gore because when the first kill scene was shown the blood is not red it was pink and it wasn’t really that good enough because the blood was pink and if this movie used red blood the movie will be two times better but it’s ok though that the blood is pink at least it’s not CGI blood unlike in Wrong Turn 3 and The Midnight Meat Train they used CGI blood but this one is ok. Now the 3D is really good imagine if the film showed in IMAX you’re gonna have a good experience with this movie when you watch it in IMAX because you’ll love the way the blood will get splattered in your eyes and you’ll see the traps come towards you in real 3D. Director Kevin Greutert did a good job with his directing in the last Saw film it was too bad that the series has come to an end already and we’re all gonna miss this movie because it was the perfect horror film for Halloween. And I bet when Kevin Greutert made this film he may have watched all of Lucio Fulci’s movies because he used the over the top gore in the last Saw film and I bet that he may have watched Olaf Ittenbach’s films as well before he made this film talk about the way Ittenbach used gore in The Burning Moon and his first feature film Black Past. Anyways lots of Horror fans will miss the Saw franchise so far and the series has come to a perfect end and the film is also on full circle because it was successful and impressive. Kevin Greutert did a good job with his work in the film instead of working on the lazy Paranormal Activity 2 so I hope he’s happy that he ended up making a better film that working on Paranormal Activity 2 so far but I’m really proud to this director for bringing our beloved franchise to a serious and impressive end as the series is finally brought back in full circle. Overall Saw 3D is the perfect end in the Saw franchise. Good Bye Saw I’ll miss you and Halloween will no longer be the same without you.

Idiotic. Moronic. Headache-inducing. Tedious. Vapid. Nothing comes close to actually experiencing the atrocity of Saw 3D. Saw was never known for acting, we can put that aside. But it was meant for story and some elaborate deaths. Not only does the gore fail to spark any real attention, the story falls so flat on itself that it’s embarrassing. Saw 3D, Saw 7, Saw whatever, it sucks, and it sucks terribly. Put it in 42D and it’s still a piece of shit. I hated this movie.

This was an amazing Saw sequel, I think it may even be the best one yet!

This had some good moments. But first I want to point out the bad.The opening trap was juvenile and pathetic.Even for Hoffman.Jigsaw wouldn’t care about a twenty somethings love triangle. The 3D felt forced and doesn’t belong in the Saw universe. For a farewell film it seemed like Jigsaw wasn’t even in it.Did the flashback well run dry?The first half of the film had me pissed. The second half felt like Saw.Jill and Hoffmans build up and showdown was satisfying. The twist ending was OK,but not shocking.Just seemed like they should have taken more time writing this.Part 6 was such an amazing sequel. For a so-called finale they should have topped it.This was better than part 1 barely but was worst than part 5 which is my least favorite. The gore was awesome.Acting was good enough, and did have some cool traps.3 out of 5 skulls.

Horribly disappointing finale to an amazing series! If anything they need to just remake this movie and pretend it never happened. It has pink blood is that enough of a reason for you?

The Ultimate Movie Review! – http://tss5078.blogspot.com – @tss5078 – Sometimes in order to make something fresh and exciting again, you have to go back to the beginning, and thats exactly what Saw did. While I enjoyed all the movies, this one has less flashbacks, and is as creepy than ever before. If you are not on the edge of your seat for this one, there is something wrong with you! The final chapter as they claim it to be, might have been the best Saw film yet and the way they chose to end it will just blow your mind all over again. Even if you gave up after the first two or three, SEE THIS MOVIE!
