I wanted so badly to like this, even past the halfway point I was rooting for the films success. The plot is pretty simple: 3 people stop at an ATM at 2:00 AM, and end up trapped inside as a maniac stalks them from outside, and killing whoever comes along. While not a strong plot, that really wasn’t the problem here. The problem is the third act become a complete mess, and wound up doing nothing but pissing me off. I can’t completely bash the film because of it’s ending though. The firs two acts actually weren’t too bad, the only problem there was that I didn’t care about the characters enough. But holy shit what a mess of an ending! **SPOILER** nothing is resolved, matters get worse, and the explanation of events is terrible and just flat out not probable.
5/10 SKULLS simply for the minor suspense and entertainment in the first half. If you really need to see it I would a little while as it’s certainly not worth the $9.99 rental fee.

Trailer is misleading! Plot is pointless, nothing is ever explained and the ending is just horrid. Please please avoid this film and save 81 minutes of your life. Definite consideration for one of the worst horror films of 2012.

ATM is a simple title that fits perfectly with a simple film about three coworkers David, Emily and Corey who are on their way home from a christmas party and decide to stop by a isolated ATM to get some extra cash for a bite to eat but what they don’t know is that it’s a death trap. The film could of ran with its simple premise and go to new heights of terror but to me it didn’t do much of anything interesting with it and doesn’t even tell the motive of the psychopathic man bent on killing anyone who gets in his or her way or tries to escape the ATM building yet goes to the extreme on torturing them, it just doesn’t give you much to work with on figuring it out but definitely leaves you on the edge of your seat in suspense. The leads give their best efforts with little that they were given but seem wasted here and their characters just didn’t make smart enough moves until it was too late, I mean there are three of you and one of him why wait to die and not fight back? That got frustrating pretty quickly and even the killer was pretty dull if you ask me and that coat disguise has been done before in the movie Urban Legend, couldn’t they figure out something different and new? Guess not but his methods on bringing mayhem to his helpless victims was pretty intense and brutal and clever but nothing all that scary, to me it’s more of a thriller than a horror movie and is pretty similar to the slightly better film P2 and almost could be its sequel and even takes place around christmas too. The movie could of faired better as a short film in a anthology than a stand alone full length film as things start to get tedious towards the end and the final act was just disappointing and lacking any thrills or chills and it didn’t fill in any plot holes and the story was just barely there to completely keep you intrigued but it gives you an obvious hint that there will be a sequel so I’m sort of interested to see if that’s going to happen because the killer now seems to be a madman like Jigsaw or something so who knows where they will go with it. Overall ATM had potential, a decent cast some tense scenes here and there, a simple yet effective setting and a ruthless and unstoppable killer but it has too many flaws to be a complete success and it will come and go from your memory before the year is over but worth at least one redbox rental if you are out of options so wait for it til then. 6 out of 10

All in all I thought it was a good movie, but if you are one of those people who hates movies that could never happen, look elsewhere…

On of the least entertaining horror movies of the past decade. Avoid at all costs.

A little entertaining at times and the acting is fine (nothing more than fine, as the script really does not give any of the actors much to work with), but it is all a bit silly, over-the-top and predictable and the characters are pretty stupid in their decisions. There is also no closure to the overall story and no explanation in regards to the killers motivation for his actions. From the writer of Buried (which was a very good film) I expected more.

Could have been a great film, instead it is slightly under my recommended rating of at least a 7, i felt shortchanged by the lack of reasoning/explaination behind the villian’s scheme of things, a little better writing for the last 5 minutes could have made it at least recommendable, i was exciting about it seeing as how its the writer of buried (an Excellent film)

Yeah it fizzles out at the end and is rather anti-climactic, but you could do much worse. I was thrilled by the taut suspense during the first 2 acts and the acting was pretty decent.
All in all, an above average rainy day thriller. Again, you could do much worse!

ATM tries to be more than what it is & pays dearly for it. Instead of being the DTV fun waste of time thriller its advertised to be, it proceeds to then attempt to become the next big franchise like Saw. Ironically, this movie requires more of a suspension of disbelief than anything Saw dishes out, which is an amazing accomplishment. If this film succeeds in spawing a sequel, what’s it going to be called, Mini Mart or MM for short? You’ll understand this question after seeing this movie. But do yourself a favor…..don’t watch it.

As usual, I watch my horror movie every Tuesday and when I saw this on the list of new movies out, it did catch my attention. That was the only time it caught it.

The premise is interesting. three people trapped in an ATM kiosk. Until you realize that the killer is a complete moron, even though they TRIED to make him look educated.

The only thing that keeps these people safe is the door. The building is encased in glass on three sides. Not something that is too terribly hard to get into if you really wanted to kill the people.

Not a terrible movie until you see the stupidity of the killer. It seems that he could just bust in and kill them, but there has to be some LONG DRAWN OUT WAY to kill them. The sad thing is, the killer’s stupidity is only matched by the other characters.

The three in the booth. They had many chances to escape. Didn’t take one.

The random guy that appears and doesn’t see the dead people and warnings all over the place and just strolls up to the building.

The other people that show up are just as bad.

Point is, take every stupid move that people do in horror films and add them up and have them take place in an ATM booth.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda, DIDN’T. Wussy and annoying characters. Implausible premise when the location is considered.

This is another run-of-the-mill thrillers, and the ending isn’t satisfying in the least. TERRIBLE!

Despite all the stupidity in the film, the director explains EVERYTHING, and not to much avail actually.

A movie wich has to be explained is automatically a bad film.

Hopes high for a no sequel.

Horrible! A complete waste of money! This is the worst horror film to come out this year. And it has one of the worst most unsatisfying movie endings in movie history. SKIP IT!!!
