First off, I’m really a sucker for Aussie horror, so I was sold on this from the get go. Just going to keep this review simple. A compelling story, told with great direction and an impeccable score. This is not a straight up horror film, so don’t be put off by those complaining of off screen kills and lack of gore, it isn’t needed in this picture. SNOWTOWN is much more disturbing than any torture- porn or slasher film you’ll see.
This movie is so creepy and so true! Not since Boys Don’t Cry have I been effectively wrapped up in true crime and the actors did such a great job that I either sympathized or detested them. The only complaint I have is they focused too much on character development and should’ve went into more on the murders, but don’t get me wrong there is no lacking of much in this movie. It’s very haunting and is a must see.
