`The Human Centipede [First Sequence]” wasn’t the best movie, but the originality behind it made it a unique dark-horror comedy that people either loved or hated. Now, Tom Six has made the sequel, and It’s definitely a special gift for fans of the original. We are introduced to Martin, a psycho fan of the original movie, and man does Laurence Harvey deliver. His acting is top-notch, and considering he doesn’t even speak, is quite an accomplishment. The black and white was a perfect decision that gave the film a gritty look and feel. Right in the first 5 minutes of the film, you can tell that this movie isn’t holding back at all. I often whispered to myself, “This movie cannot get any worse” every other segment, but it does. I don’t want to spoil anything, because this movie gets sicker and sicker. In fact, there isn’t one boring moment of this movie. Often I was laughing at how disgusting and fucked up this movie is, and then I felt disgusting for even laughing. This movie will make you cringe (the teeth scene especially) and it will make you laugh at how over-the-top this movie is. My only Cons with this movie would be how spotty it can feel at times, as if maybe some scenes where deleted or left out. I’m also not the biggest fan of Ashlynn Yennies acting, but for what she was willing to do in this movie, I give her props. Actually I give all actors props for what they did in this movie. If you didn’t like the first movie because of how it wasn’t really that gory, then don’t worry because this one has you covered. Every Horror fan should give this movie a shot just because it’s a bloody good time, but with a name like `The Human Centipede Part 2 [Full Sequence]‘, you know exactly what your about to watch.
On a side Note: Being in a theater with some of the biggest Human Centipede fans was extremely frightening at times. Some guy kept yelling “Rape her Rape her!” when Martin captured his victims, and This was just too much…like come on. I was more scared of the audience in the theater than the movie its self. So please be respectful and mature, it’s an 18+ movie so act like it.
A centipede up the ass never hurt anyone! “The Human Centipede” has slithered itself back into the bowels of horror movie lovers. Filled to the brim with excess loads of gore, thrills, and fecal matter, Tom Six’s love child holds a true power over its audience. Six shares an intimate tale of one man, Martin’s, infatuation with “The Human Centipede” and his fantasy to create the ultimate play toy. As Martin’s minimal sanity begins to shed, so do the flesh and bodily orifices of his many victims. Bludgeons, laxatives, and still-births galore, “The Human Centipede Part 2″ holds absolutely no regrets over the many twisted pleasures explored in the film. If you’re expecting a cinematic masterpiece, you’re probably better off seeing “Footloose,” but what that movie lacks and this movie gains is a mouth full of blood and ass full of teeth (actually, no teeth). Enjoy this movie for what it’s worth: an over-the-top, how- far-can-it-go, sexually depraved exploitation film – or at least, that’s what it wants to be. Here’s to the third!
Despite not being a fan of explosive diarrhea or explicit, graphic violence, this film lived up to the expectations of the first film. The first film isn’t really all that graphic, and what that film lacked in graphic content, this film more than made up for. Bloody, shitty, raw, disgusting, awful. Some people are into that sort of thing, but, sorry to say, I’m not. I’ve certainly seen plenty of worse films, of course, so this might be up some of your alleys. More information here:

Very surprised by this sequel as its major flaw was one I never accounted for – it was middle of the road. Yes the gore is extreme. Yes the concept is fully realized in the most sickening manner. But the by-the-numbers middle close ups and consistent attack, abduct, repeat of the first hour followed by 30mins of endless torture made it much too ardorous for me. Dare I say it, but The Human Centipede 2 was boring. The one thing I never thought a film about mouth-to-anus surgery could be! Furthermore Six’s underlying tone felt very condescending to horror fans in a way not dissimilar to Haneke’s original Funny Games.
However I love the meta idea here and the black and white definitely creates mood. It’s just there was very little here to make me sit up and take notice (including all the shit at the end which when coupled with juvenile fart sound effects made it all like a comedy…but an unfunny one at that).
And @Left4Dau I think we were in the same theatre (Minneapolis) or maybe this is a common thing? Needless to say the film itself was sickening, but the audience itself was another thing entirely. I was pretty tense the whole time, but HC2 had little to do with that…
Wow, first of all I’m having a hard time saying that I liked this movie… With that said, I actually think I did like it. The concept was actually pretty interesting, a man deemed “mentally retarded” by his abusive movie and strange doctor becomes obsessed with the film “The Human Centipede”, taking things far too seriously he decides to create his own masterpiece, the twelve person centipede. The acting from lead Laurence Harvey was very good, and at some points intense. I was a little worried about the antagonist having zero lines in this film, but it was pulled of very well and made it much creepier.
The black and white style also made it feel grittier and worked very well for this film. With all of that said HC2 does lack the psychological feeling of the first. In the original you felt almost like you were in the characters heades, actually caring about what happens to them while knowing that it was not going to turn out well, but in this one you really don’t get a feel for who the people are, aside from a few characters, the rest of them were just another link in the centipede. The film was disturbing and gross at some times (okay a lot of times) but being that I was expecting that from it, it actually seemed pretty tame, and almost like a joke once it got into it. All in all it was a good follow up, an original idea, and I am looking forward for part three.
I enjoyed it but i was also disappointed.. i thought this was supposed to be freaking insane!!.. maybe it was the black and white that turned me off alittle.. i liked martin.. glad I watched and I will still be ready for 3rd
Terrible, horrible movie. The first movie was bad but this was on a whole other level. Tom Six seems to want to be extreme without having any grounding in what we see as reality. This is a sick movie, disgusting, and I don’t understand why people like movies like this when there are some great, atmospheric, plot-driven, character-driven horror movies out there that make you think. This piece of drivel is dire.
If you can’t party with the big boys – don’t show up! Let me just cut right to the point: there doesn’t need to be any reviews for this film because the people who like or dislike it ALREADY KNEW THAT before they entered the theater. It was common knowledge that this is a very sick and disturbing horror movie – it’s either your cup of tea or it isn’t. I especially like the people who hated the first one and STILL saw part 2. So stop hating on this film. Besides, those of you who did hate the flick should be happy that your damn new Twilight movie comes out next month so shut-up.
This movie was basically what I expected. It was disturbing, violent and disgusting. I have to say that the first half of the movie was pretty boring and repetitive. it was basically hit someone with a crowbar next victim and repeat. The whole he had a messed up childhood his mom was a bitch so he was a nut was kind of cliche. But probably a little past the half way mark the movie did get going. And boy did it. It’s kind of funny because I thought the first one left alot to the imagination and it was kind of a let down this one was pretty much what you thought the first one was going to be. It definitely was very graphic and there was one scene in particular towards the end that I thought was unesseccary and was done simpily for shock value. I did like that it was in black and white because it made the movie feel different and gave it a dark vibe. I do think it was done because this movie in color would have been even more disturbing. I was curious how he hooked up with the girl from the first one and the reason was kind of goofy but I have to say in the ending it kind of made everything make sense. probably the one thing I did like was the ending because there were just some things that made no sense but the ending kind of made up for that. Overall I didn’t really like this movie. I saw it once and have no desire to see it again.
This film is totally sick! The leading character looks like a cross between Homer Simpson with a stomach like Fred Flintstone. Tom Six takes the ass to mouth idea to a new level with shocking and humorous results. Some parts are just outright crazy. It is worth a watch and skip the popcorn if you have a weak stomach.
I just got done watching this film and I gotta say this is one of the sickest films in the history of the horror genre. In my opinion Martin is much creepier than Dr. Heiter from the first film. I loved everything about this film…it was shot beautifully, the acting was good and the finished human centipede looked disgusting. Martin is no doctor that is why this film is 100% Medically Inaccurate. If you have a weak stomach I would not recommend this film…if it is strong like mine check this film out. I got a bit queasy while watching this film. This is a repulsive and disgusting watch and absolutely, positively not for children.
There is no God and Tom Six proves it in this disgusting, wretched tale. It’s bleak as fuck. Everything is hopeless. There is nothing but torture and pain and exploding shit. The violence does make you wince and it’s definitely not for those who have a weak stomach. It’s not a bad film but it’s certainly one of the most fucked up ones I’ve ever seen.
Huge fan of the first one, I couldn’t wait for part 2 to come out. I watched this with a couple of friends and my girlfriend. Friends left because it get to intense for them haha.
Now I’m a huge fan of gore in movies, but this was…. omg it made me cringe. The knees were my least favorite part of this movie… shit scene was disgusting, but not as bad as the knees. everything was great.
The characters in the movie i found unlikeable and dull though i found the main character creepy and really “cool”. Acting was meeeh.
If you one of the few people that liked part 1…..you really need to see this one. Sick, twisted, disgusting, and “beautiful”. 8 out of 10
Either i saw an uncut version of this film or the British Censorboard are pussies. THis movie wasn’t bad at all. I’ve seen far worst. Of course there was some sick scenes but nothing to get all upset over. The movie was kind of the same as the first. It wasn’t as disturbing as everyone made it. But it was still damn awesome, and creepy as shit.
I just finished my initial viewing of Human Centipede 2. After all of the hype and reviews I gotta say this is one to remember. It has everything I heard it had. It’s nasty and filthy. It’s violent and disgusting. It’s also hilarious and dares you to get in on the joke. The joke being that it’s only a movie and should not be taken so seriously.
i loved the movie, but after the hype it should have been in color then i would understand what the fuss was about, i did not think it was that disgusting (but i am an Australian) and im looking forward to the uncut one, but i did not like the black and white the rest was good
One of the most pathetic movies I have ever seen, the length that Tom will go to to try and grasp any kind of shock horror actually makes this kinda ridiculous. What could have been a truly shocking experience was ruined by the over-enthusiasm of the director to shock.
My response to this sicko-named-Six is that I’ll never bother to watch this movie. There’s enough out there already that looks to shock and only shock. I’ll stick to the true good vs. evil films like Nightmare on Elm Street.
THIS MOVIE IS HARD TO WATCH AT TIMES, BUT DEFINITELY A GREAT MOVIE, I DO NOT GET ALL OF THE HATE, IT WAS NON STOP SUSPENSE FROM BEGINNING TO END, WITH ALOT OF WTF MOMENTS, EXCELLENT
This movie was a steaming pile of writhing flesh. Violent and gory yet boring and sterile.
One of this year’s most anticipated and most talked about movies. Considering all the fuzz about censoring and banning, it felt as if Tom Six wanted it to be this year’s “A Serbian Film”.
Well, Part II is pretty disgusting but sadly, far from what I expected – and it’s also far from being as great and entertaining as the original.
What’s good:
~ Laurence R. Harvey – his performance may be not as memorable as Dieter Laser’s, but still he’s one helluva weird and impressive actor, playing one helluva mad and super-fucked-up, but also quite pitiful character. His facial expressions and gestures are excellent and I love that he doesn’t say a whole word in the entire movie.
~ Many of the other characters are so funny and/or over-the-top, it almost feels like you’re in a Frank Henenlotter movie (Martin’s suicidal mother, the long-bearded doctor, the hooligan neighbor…).
Oh, and Ashlynn Yennie (the ass from Part 1) is back, playing herself.
~ The whole movie looks just fabulous due to some fine camera work, many cool and grimy locations, and of course, Tom Six’ excellent choice to shoot it in gritty black-and-white.
~ The script is far from perfect but at least the ‘plot’ build-up in the first half is just amazing.
~ The minimalistic soundtrack is not only wonderfully fitting but also quite eerie.
~ The violence is super-digusting but fun: hammered out teeth, lots of crowbar-smashed heads, severed knee tendons, many faces stitched to asses in gruesome ways and the uber-insane scene where a mother incidentally steps on her newborn child.
What’s bad:
~ A few serious pacing issues in the first half, thanks to the pretty lame script.
~ Hardly any tension or suspense, thanks to the pretty lame script.
~ Some incredibly stupid, annoying and terribly written dialogue sequences.
~ A dumb and unimaginative finale that fails to impress due to predictable and lame / forced shock-value and a few really boring moments.
Overall, an neat but un-groundbreaking sequel.
People who love or like Part 1 will also love or like Part 2.
People who hate Part 1 will probably hate Part 2 even more.
6,5/10

Steaming pile of crap!
Loved it. I’m not going to waste my time writing up a review because it’s been done by so many people already. Some people hated it, some loved it, some were indifferent. It’s all about personal preference. No one is right or wrong in this case. Loved it? Great. Hated it? Great. I hate it when people fight over the quality of a film thinking that they can convince others to agree with their opinion. Personal preference. Those are my thoughts. Take ‘em or leave ‘em. It’s your choice.
loved every minute of it!
Just a pointless, disgusting, putrid, steaming pile of horse shit. The first film had at least some substance to it, whilst this….Oh my days!!! Avoid like the plague. If anyone got the slightest bit of gratitude from this movie, you REALLY need to see someone. Tom Six, you ought to be ashamed of yourself!!
Anyone who felt the slightest bit of gratitude towards this movie, you REALLY need to start making movies!
at first I was thinking “this ain’t shit”. while funnier than the first and nowhere near as boring at first I didnt think it was as shocking or disgusting. then the final 20 min came and WOW, fuckin ridiculous! it wasn’t that disgusting but was insane and had a bunch of WTF moments. I mean really was the getaway that necessary? i think better than the first and equally as disturbing but it’s not on A Serbian Film level
Really shit! Cheap, easy, a waste of time… I quite liked the fist, and whether you lied the first or not it has sort of become iconic (for imigery). This destroys it… Here the idea s dull, predictable, the acting is terrible and te plot drags…. Is it shocking. Yes but that doesn’t make a good film ( I liked Serbian Film- I thought it was very effective). But this film could have just edited together the shocking scenes and it would save over an hour of your life by missing out the pointless bits…. I would be intreged if even those who said they liked it would watch this again, at the very most they will show just the shocking highlights to their friends, then 10 mis later they can go wach something decent. Tom Six you were on bathe cusp of being something big in horror, bt you have shown yourself as a one trick pony, who can’t write and relies on shck gore that could be made by anyone with a vague interest in special effects.
I do award 2 skulls for the teeth and knees scene, the best Minute of the film!
Sick and brutal! Goes places the first one didn’t and then some. I wouldn’t call it entertaining..but not all horror has to be..it was akin to watching the aftermath of a car crash on the interstate..horrible but impossible to look away. I can’t even imagine how Six is planning to up the ante with the third installment.
I just watched this piece of shit (no pun intended) last night, and I still don’t know. I hated the first one, but for some reason all the hype I heard about this one made me watch. Granted, I watched it for free, but still this was just an enormous waste of my time. First of all, there’s literally no dialogue with the exception of a few spoken sentences. It’s in black and white (which I don’t mind for old films like King Kong, Psycho, Night of the Living Dead, Frankenstein) and the content of this movie is just gross. A man masturbates with sandpaper… seriously? The director really went above and beyond trying to gross us out, but it just felt like it was in bad taste. I don’t mind a sick, twisted movie if it’s done properly, like in Hostel 2 watching that girl hanging upside down getting killed was far more effective than anything in this movie. The whole concept of this movie is stupid; a man is obsessed with “The Human Centipede” and decides that he wants to make his own human centipede, but he wants to use like 16 people. I also thought it was pretty stupid that the people that are having their tongues ripped out or their knees cut open with a scalpel aren’t even screaming in pain, they’re just like barely moaning. If I was getting my tongue ripped out or my knees ripped open I’d be screaming my lungs out!! This movie is sick, and anyone who buys this DVD should be put in the nut house.
My review of The Human Centipede II taken from my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/SavesSceneReview
How does one describe Tom Six’s The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence)? Disgusting? Maybe. Repulsive? Absolutely! Incredible? Undeniably! As I’ve said to many people, if you liked 2 GIRLS ONE CUP you’re going to love The Human Centipede II. This film is definitely not for the faint of heart. Before the start of the film, there is a disclaimer advising sexual and gory violence. There should be a disclaimer advising that anyone with heart problems or weak stomachs need not apply.
If you’ve seen the original, the sequel is not to be missed. If you were annoyed by the crappy acting in the original you will be more pleased with this work of fecal art (pun completely intended). One thing to know is that HCII is not a direct sequel. Along the lines of Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, this film starts off with a man watching the original film on a computer. The man, obsessed with the original conjures the idea of creating his own centipede. But not with 3 specimens or 4 or 5…you guessed it…12 specimens! 12 people surgically attached mouth to anus. The original film was advertised as “100% Medically Accurate” which in other words means, this shit can happen. HCII is advertised as “100% Medically Inaccurate.” There is no way possible that the film is any kind of accurate, but regardless…the film is powerful.
The director…
Dutch director Tom Six is a disturbed person. The first film was great because it pushed the boundaries of taste. The second is amazing because it pushes every immoral button and does not let up. Unlike the first film, HCII is more visual (filmed in black/white). The scenes of true grotesque look more realistic regardless of how unrealistic we know it is. I feel he put more thought into it. The first film was not as disturbing as it was made out to be…3 people ass-to-mouth…who cares. This sequel goes the full tilt and makes you gag and cough and scream “COME ON!” As I am not familiar with Six’s previous films, I feel he is a true visionary and will continue to make films that will question everyone’s taste for film.
The acting…
Laurence Harvey is truly sadistic as the character Martin. Like most demented characters in films like this, he portrays the typical abused, obsessed and repressed child like no other. This part could never be played by an a-list actor. He does not speak a word throughout the whole film so everything is done through physical acting. His appearance is also something that fits the part…his eyes pop out of his head and overly obese figure fits the character perfectly. He should get an Oscar but that would never happen.
Ashlynn Yennie returns as herself. She played the ditsy Jenny in the first HC, but her character was so annoying you wanted her to be the first to go and which is why she was #3 in the first. This film I felt she played herself a little better. I could feel that she was naturally terrified and not being told to. Of course she is no Jodie Foster but her chops as an actor have promise.
The final cut…
You are on a first date (he/she will probably file a restraining order against you)
Here are the top 10 reasons I would suggest for not seeing HCII:
1) You are easily grossed out
2) You have any heart complications
3) You find sandpaper masturbation unconventional
4) You are offended by scenes of child birth and death
5) You cannot handle massive amounts of feces thrown at the screen
6) You are offended by just about anything
7) You are in fact mentally disturbed
9) You are a feminist
10) You are pregnant
If you think you can handle it, I think its a truly powerful and gut wrenching film. In certain scenes it is actually quite beautiful (I know everyone is probably thinking I’m insane). There are several films that are truly disgusting but are also intriguing. Such scenes I do not consider to be politically correct. Its like viewing a picture of a pile of bodies in a concentration camp; despite being disturbing and depressing you cannot take your eyes off the image.
I enjoyed both the original and sequel because they both bring controversy. I believe the sequel brings more violence, perversion, and disturbance than the original did. The whole film is a bit uncomfortable to watch and the main character, Martin, is just a total freak. I enjoyed this one, as I’m sure many other people will not.
A vast improvement over the first film and much better than I expected based on other reviews. The use of black-and-white was inspired although perhaps a necessity considering the amount of blood involved. Some genuinely unsettling moments. This is what the first film should have been. Tom Six redeemed himself.
Better than the first one.
I want an unrated version.
Simply put, it’s just a terrible movie in all aspects. I really liked the first one, and i thought this movie would have LOADS of potential as a result. Instead, the synopsis just takes an unfortunate turn. The Synopsis could have gone in a much better direction that would perhaps involve Dr. Heiter’s spouse coming back home and succeeding him? I mean, that’s just one of MANY ideal turns the synopsis could have taken for this “sequel”. This movies budget was so abundantly low, it seemed like it was filmed using a typical camera bought at Best Buy using a black and white feature. It was probably filmed in black and white because of how terribly fake it would look in color. Tom Six was definitely trying to hide something there.
I was not shocked by this movies intent, in fact, i encourage movies that cause controversy because those are the better movies. This movie was just a bad experience all together that made me instantly regret watching it thinking something worthwhile would somehow come out of it. Even if you are a fan of the first film, stay away from this one, you will be upset.
A disgusting, useless and pathetic excuse for a film. It has no reason to exist other than for extreme shock value. It had potential, but it seems that Tom Six was more interested in thinking up the most outrageous and putrid things he could throw into one film. The movie has no point, a VERY thin plot, and no characters to truly care about. Oh, and it has one of the worst endings I’ve ever seen in my life. Avoid at ALL costs.
Really didn;t like this one I thought the first one at lease better because it was a fresh type of story line but this was just for shock value but it wasn;t shock at all just plain old and the trailer got me people were throwing up at what???? this is just lame and the next one I think I will miss it.

When the original “Human Centipede: First Sequence” came out in 2009 it instantly become a cult classic. You can see my review here. Disgusting, wrong and sadistic are only a few of the nicer words critics have called it. Director Tom Six is quite the showman of shock, having the audacity to create two of the most sickest “mainstream” films in recent history.
Of course with any sequel it needs to be bigger, bolder, and shockier (yeah, I made that word up). Since the great Dr. Heiter was killed at the end of the first film, we get a new protagonist in the form of Martin, a short and very rotund man who has lived a very disturbing life. He is mentally handicapped and was severely abused by his father, his therapist has dreams of raping him and his mother even tries to kill him. Martin seems to get by with an obsession with the original Human Centipede film. He plans to create a centipede of his own but with twelve people instead of the original three. Martin works as an overnight parking garage attendant and knocks out a bunch of people and keeps them in a warehouse. While Dr. Heiter was a skilled surgeon, Martin is quite crude in his methods.
Every aspect of this film has been designed to shock and disgust to the highest degree and some scenes are just so outrageous you might find yourself chuckling. Martin is spectacularly realized by actor Laurence R. Harvey, his name could be an alias since anything about him is hard to find, and there was another somewhat famous actor named Laurence Harvey in the 1950s and 60s. I don’t remember Martin ever saying a word, but his character and mannerisms are just so perfect for this role. He is creepy, disgusting, dirty and utterly insane. In a very interesting twist Martin is able to get one of the actresses from the first film to show up at his warehouse with the promise of auditioning for a Quentin Tarantino film.
Director Tom Six also had the grapes to present everything in black and white. He knows how to push peoples buttons and everything is planned out to give a certain effect. This movie is quite hard to watch even when you know what you’re in for, and for people to pay money to see it, I sure brings a huge smile to Six’s face.
I really enjoyed watching this part.
It was better than the first one. What was the best about it was that it was made in black and white it have bought more of atmosphere. And the main character Martin is a guy you have to like for some weird reason.
The Gist
“The Human Centipede II” goes far beyond living up to the hype promised by its “shocking” predecessor. Unlike the original, HCII is shot in black and white; yet, it assaults the eye with more violence, depravity and filth than any frame of the original.
Writer and director Tom Six returns to show his audience the horrors that were mostly told about in the first film. In HCII, we see the villain, Martin (Laurence R. Harvey), slicing through anal flesh and stapling lips to exposed, bleeding anuses. Don’t consider this a spoiler. It gets much worse.
HCII also bumps up the blood and guts meter with an additional layer of the “slasher movie” element. Unlike the villain in the first one, who only tortured his victims, Martin hunts and bludgeons to death more people than end up in the centipede.
Acting/Directing/Other
The scenes of vulgarity were effectively executed as the make-up work and special effects are top notch.
Movies found in the vomit-soaked area of the shelf that HCII slithers its way into usually don’t stand out for good acting. But, the acting in HCII is not terrible. Special emphasis, however, must be placed on Harvey, who delivers a nightmarishly disturbing performance by using hand and face gestures without ever saying a word.
In a nutshell
] With that said, it could be one of the best or worse films you see this year.
Overall, HCII is the unflinching, stomach-turning exploitation film that the original claimed to be. With that said, the first film can’t possibly prepare you for the sequel. HCII is strictly for genre fans looking for 87 minutes of cinematic defecation [Both figuratively and literally
Yes. This movie is great. I thought it was better than the first one by leaps and bounds.
This movie was sick in a good way, but I found it to be pretty bad. I would probably not watch it again.
