Huge fan of The Collector and have been waiting quite awhile for this one! Went to the Sneak peak last night and I gotta say it is a HUGE FAILURE! The story is taken off basis, the new actress is awful, most the acting was bad, THEY RUINED THE STORY! The first film had pace, great filmed shots, creative kills, and was more graphic, It was about the killer not a bunch of cheesy actors. This movie however went into crazy shaky cam anytime we were about to see him kill someone or a trap kill someone. If you haven’t seen the movie The Collector go rent it instead. And if you have seen The Collector then go Rent it instead still!
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SCREW THIS MOVIE UP!
Too Many Great Independent Horror films that have been ruined by its sequel as of late!
Hatchet- AMAZING, Hatchet 2- WTF?!!!
LaidtoRest- Awesome kill scenes, LTR2- just down right awful
The Collector- So good I bought a shirt, The collection- I can’t unsee what I have seen…
Stupid directors can’t you just leave a story alone and go with what worked in the first one while coming up with new creative ways of the killer doing it, not changing the entire story. SO MY SUGGESTION:
RENT: Hatchet, Laid to Rest, And The Collector and leave all there sequels alone!
Loved The Collector and The Collection didn’t disappoint. It’s a bloody, crazy, roller coaster ride. I can’t wait to see The Collected. The collector is one of the most creative fun horror icons of recent years. This is a movie you are suppose to just have a fun bloody time. The imagery in these movies is quiet stunning. The opening party sequence is one of my favorite horror openings ever! It’s the perfect way to start the ride. And THE ENDING IS AWESOME! It’s just what I wanted to see after the ending of the first film! Revenge. Can’t wait to see the next chapter. If you liked The Collector see this movie and have fun with it.
The experience of watching this film is similar to that of walking through a haunted house. You’re bombarded by a series of unrelated gags, some inspired others cheap, and when you come out the other side, you laugh a bit and forget all about it. I can’t for the life of me figure out why all the genre sites seem to be gushing over it, but then again, I guess that’s just one man’s opinion.
I was i little dissapointed..i liked it apart from it being so unrealistic and the acting was bad except for Josh Stewart.
I love The Collector and felt while this movie wasn’t by any means ground breaking, it was a breath of fresh air from the blandness that’s been released recently. It has much more action than its’ predecessor which isn’t necessarily good or bad, just different. Though this movie can still be enjoyed with out seeing The Collector first, The Collection doesn’t give as much character development with Arkham as it should have. Over all as far as a sequel goes this wasn’t bad at all and the ending was great.
I haven’t seen “The Collector” but “The Collection” as mentioned stands on it’s own. It’s perfect on various qualities. It starts off spending little time for nonsensical character development and gets right down to the nitty-gritty. I enjoyed the film and I walked out of the movie theater in better terms than many other films.
While I know some may not agree, I truly believe this is the best theatrical release horror film of the year. Yes, the acting isn’t the best, and there are plot holes a plenty, but this is old school horror at its best. While not quite up to par with Hatchet, this reminds us why we love these movies. Stupid people, cheap thrills, outrageous gore, and a villain that may or may not be the next horror icon.
If you were a fan of the first one then you are going to love this movie. It’s the first movie on steroids (basically just on a bigger scale than the first). I personally loved this movie and thought it was great. Didn’t really like the main character Arkin this much this time around. Go see this movie when you get the chance.
Being a huge fan of The Collector, I was anticipating this sequel for a long time now. And I’m glad to say that The Collection was actually a good sequel IMO. I like how they kept Arkin involved in the story and it felt like a true continuation. Great gore and pretty cool traps, although I think the traps in the first one were better. The acting isn’t all that besides Arkin but what do you expect this is a horror gore flick get over it. And I love the ending too, I’m ready to see if they go on and make another. I think they are called The Collected but those were just rumors but I hope they do greelight it. I really think the “Collector” can be the next horror icon, but people need to get up and see it when it hits theaters, the gross on these last two films weren’t that great and I don’t understand it. These bullshit ghost stories get millions in the first week and something good like this comes out and no one fucking goes to see it!Anyways a worthy sequel in my opinion I think its worth a buy.

I stopped watching after 45 minutes. It just wasn’t entertaining.
