Bob Hoskins (Doomsday), Jason Flemying (The 4th Reich , Dead Cert, Solomon Kane) and Talulah Riley (Inception) are set and Willem Dafoe (Antichrist) is in talks to star in a new alien invasion pic titled Transmission. The film, Moviehole has learned, is being developed by Gold Films (who are Giles Alderson with his writing, producing partner Martin Owen) and is a British sci-fi feature being shot in 3D and centered around an alien invasion during an solar eclipse. Because apparently, everyone has heard of the film, Black & Blue Films has acquired the remake rights to 1971 cult horror film The Asphyx. It will be written and directed by Matthew McGuchan, reports Screen Daily. The original, which was directed by Peter Newbook, told the story of Victorian scientists trying to capture the soul as it leaves the body so they could isolate it and cheat death. The remake will be set in the present day and will feature Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade star, Alison Doody. It will shoot in London next June. (more…) READ MORE
