Atmospherically directed. Sound design is killer. So happy I knew very little about this going in — rare that a movie can take me by surprise but this did it. And I’m glad it didn’t cop out at the end. Delivers the sick and twisted goods. Posted By pyrepunk on July 24, 2012 @ 1:22 am Log in to Reply ★★★★☆ Lovely Molly is a film basically about going mad. The film kept me intrigued by the main character Molly, the whole time I was wondering is she really just crazy or is there really a demonic spirit after her driving her mad, either way the girl is going absolutely insane during the film and gives you a very psychological creepy feel in your gut the whole time. I usually don’t enjoy films like this because they usually go very cliche but for Lovely Molly I can say that it doesn’t follow cliche as much as most films and delivers something tasty and original. A must see for Psychological Thriller fans who don’t mind a little gore and nudity. Posted By A-Devils-Reject on August 3, 2012 @ 11:33 pm Log in to Reply ★★★☆☆ Creepy film. Acting and sound design really is superb. Loses points for being so utterly confusing though. I would really love an explanation as to what was going on. Where did a horse come from and why was it in the photo album? And what was with the ending? Lovely Molly is a creepy, atmospheric, and wonderfully gory. I cringed, gasped, and hardly dared to breathe for the last twenty minutes. The movie relied on imagination and thought rather that CGI and cheap scares. I even enjoyed the little documentary webisodes included on the DVD because they cleared up many of my questions. I woke up still thinking about the movie and will definitely be adding it to my collection. Now I can read all the articles I avoided while I was waiting to see this movie. Thanks for keeping it on my radar. Posted By markajacoby on September 2, 2012 @ 3:07 pm Log in to Reply ★★★★☆ This is a truly wonderful little film. With all the trash crap remakes out there someone decided to give us something unique and we should celebrate that. Not a blood and gore, make you jump kind of horror film, but one that gets under your skin until in the end you have to dig underneath to let it out. Well acted and genuinely creepy. This is one not to be missed. Posted By Scream1210 on October 3, 2012 @ 12:08 am Log in to Reply ★★★☆☆ A truly chilling, and terrifying horror film. Its a ghost/possession/possible demonic force movie. We are not quite sure what it is and most of the movie we are not sure if its anything or if Molly is crazy and suffering from extreme trama. It’s a slow burn film but it slowly build as we watch this woman’s utter destruction. It’s an extremely disturbing and creepy movie playing on primal fears. Another thing that makes this movie so interesting is that we never see any actual ghost or demon. It adds to the suspense and mystery of whats happening to this Molly. And near the end the movie get pretty violent but not extremely gory. A lot of the time in the movie Molly is completely nude, in one way showing how vulnerable she was as a child and is now. And after learning her and her father’s (the supposed ghost in the house) past it makes it all the more disturbing and will make you squirm in your seat. The movie does lack many answers the most important being WHAT HAPPENED TO MOLLY! But it also is erie how the last we see of Molly is her walking off into the woods never to be seen again. But in the very end of the movie we do get an answer to weather she was crazy or not. In all Lovely Molly is a very disturbing and haunting horror movie that is a great addition to your horror movie collection. A very effective psychological horror film with well developed, realistic characters and excellent, down to earth acting. This flick isn’t afraid to take its time and slowly build the tension while its audience squirms. My kind of horror movie.
