The Blu Ray picture is good and the extras are not bad..
The film itself is much better than the last installment. The gore was great, as for people saying there were a lot of bad CGI effects the only blatant CGI I saw was at the end and I didn’t think it to be that bad.
The storyline was quite fun this time around and there were lot’s of gory and creative kills,One involving the use of the biggest drill in cinematic history and another that features a human buffet complete with liver and onions, these are just two of many memorable kills.
This time The women were pretty much in charge and had the brains,of course they showed a lot more than their brains, gore and T&A usually go hand in hand,Plus there is a really hot lesbian couple thrown in the mix and they aren’t shy about their love making.I really liked seeing the deadly trio of Three Fingers, Saw tooth and One eye as adolescents and seeing how they evolved.
I liked this Idea of a prequel even though there were a few things that didn’t add up,this played out better than another ‘sequel’ although I love the franchise and hope to see more. I think the last one was thrown together rather quickly without much fore thought and this ‘Wrong Turn 4′ seemed to have been thought out much better. If you are a fan of the slasher movie and especially a fan of the franchise you will want to own this.
Didn’t care for this movie. Much like parts 2 and 3, it’s not as good as the first one.
Wow this movie is complete garbage, the acting is so brutal, writing was retarded. “Hey, what’s that over there”… “Where??” Then camera pans to HUGE house right in front of them, outstanding. And when your in trouble, go back to the room and barricade yourselves in there, even if it has a massive hole drilled into it, just prop a chair against the doorknob. Stupid on all counts.
Ahhh Where Too Start. Hmm Ok Letss Start By Mentioninq How Great The First One Was, Now Lets Mention On Cool The 2nd Film Was. Hmm Ok And The 3rd One Was Decent. BUT Now Lets Talk About How Shitty Wronq Turn 4 Was. Ohh My God! The Actinq Was Horrible. it Just Did NOT Feel Likee A Wronq Turn Movie. iHope This Is The Last One , Because Its Gettinq Sad. iDont Recomend This To Anyone, Not Even Worth A Redbox Dollar!!
Bad. Just so bad.
The acting: horrible
writing: lazy.
characters: paper thin
plot: non-existent, just killing and more killing
special effects: ugh
it was an hour and half of my life which I’ll never get back.
This shit was cool. All of these movies are dope.I’ll take this ANYDAY over ‘paranormal activity’.You squares on here can have that shit!
Total agree with everyone. TERRIBLE! These movies get worse and worse. Sad since the first one was such a classic. STAY CLEAR OF THIS MESS!
major dissapointment.
Better than the third film but still an average, basic, generic slasher-movie that has very average acting, no tension, no characterisation (for its nine main characters who you are given very little reason to care about) and that feels too much like Cold Prey.
A small recovery from the third installment but nothing to brag about. It has the feeling of a movie that tries too hard, with long drawn out death scenes and tricks that have been done before. In 4′s defense, their is plenty of blood, boobs, and funny dialog to keep you tickled throughout. I was also a fan of the movies scenery. Taking the mongoloids out of the usual backdrop and letting them play in the snow made a difference. I’m glad they went backwards with the story line because 3 showed they couldn’t move forward. It is, what it is.
I actually do enjoy all the wrong turn films, even this one. I did like that it was a prequel, but nothing really original with what could’ve been the prequel. But for a horror movie…there is good violence, good gore, and of course some nudity. Overall, it was good, but not my favorite of the series.
LOVED IT!!!! I love how they keep all the Wrong Turns in diverse, keep up the good work, can’t wait to see part 5…..
Another garbage attempt to cash in on the Wrong Turn name and once again they have ffailed miserably.
I thought it couldnt get any worst and yet it did. Wrong Turn 4 is terrible and has officially made me stop watching the series.
For a prequel, The only thing that it explains the backstory of the characters is a brief ,and i mean brief, talk between 2 doctors. The begining did feature some funny kills. But it all goes down hill here from.
The acting was terrible, Heck there was pretty much nothing but crappy dialouge that was used to fill up time between kills which got insanely worse the more the movie went on.
I give it a 0 out of 10, This is trash.
It wasn’t horrible. Terrible acting, but great kills and gore when it wasn’t CGI (There isn’t much CGI but when they use it, it fails horribly). It’s a Wrong Turn movie so it doesn’t need a plot. A lot of kids in this movie, and just some utterly stupid parts, and ever more stupid decisions. Oh well, could have been worse regardless.
Great movie to watch when you got nothing better to watch.
a good movie that makes up for the horrible number 3, its not the best but the kills are cool and the gore was cool, but not as good as number 1, but sits up there with number 2,
there should have been more of them as kids in the ward, it was only 10 minutes long.
The best Wrong Turn yet! I wasn’t expecting much given the largely negative reviews, but it ended up being a thoroughly entertaining slasher with awesome kills, a snappy pace and the whole thing was surprisingly gory for a (somewhat) mainstream horror flick..give it a chance.
Saying it was better than the third isn’t much of a compliment. Might as well had been produced by After Dark.
this was definitely a great addition to the Wrong Turn series, I like how after the opening scene it seems to take place in at least January or so before the first one that I believe takes place during the summer of that same year
i dont even know where to start with how horrible this movie was, i have loved these films since the first one, i liked the 2nd one and even the 3rd one wasnt TOO bad but this one was an absolute rape of a great horror franchise. this was as bad as kingdom of the crystal skull was to the rest of the indiana jones films. the dialogue was cheesy and unoriginal the only thing i give them credit for was the death by auger that was original but other than that lots of repetition of classic ideas done milions of times and preidctable deaths or kills. the amount of sex these couples had to was kinda rediculous its like when they didnt know what to do with diologu or charachters they just made them have sex like the lesbians. anyways im gonna stop here but god this movie was so terrible im so glad i did not actually pay a dime to see it because i would want that dime back. thank you director of this movie for completely shitting on a perfectly good horror franchise i hope your happy you killed any chance of me watching anymore wrong turn movies.
I liked this movie because, well, who doesn’t like Wrong Turn in general; there’s a story, blood, crazy people, etc. BUT I think there could have been more of a story and more creative kills like in the previous movies.
This one is decent, not as good as 1&2 but easily better than 3.
I must start by stating that I found the third film so utterly awful that I nearly suffered a nervous breakdown. I had pretty low hopes for Part 4… but my drive to watch any and all horror films left me with no choice but to suffer through it. And LO! In the first ten minutes, body parts were flying, and the T&A was bursting out all over the place! The holy trinity (gore, nudity, partying) is in full force here. I keep reading complaints from other users regarding “pointless sex scenes”. Uhm… EXCUSE ME? Since when are sex scenes pointless?
A bunch of college airheads (with Canadian accents, mind you) head to Appalachia to get their collective fade on. Naturally they get lost, and find their way to our favorite inbred threesome, who spend the rest of the film amusing themselves by butchering our protagonists. The kills are many, and highly varied. Gore levels are appropriate, but I would welcome even more.
The abandoned loony bin, and the wintry setting, makes a fine playground for our three anti-heroes, and is nice change from the first three films. The college kids are absolutely brainless, interested only in getting wasted and hooking up. There is minimal concern among the group, as more and more go missing. PERFECTION, in my mind.
fun
A big improvement over the third Wrong Turn film and third best Wrong Turn movie since the original and the first sequel. Wrong Turn 4 is mainly the third best film in the Wrong Turn franchise and it is better than the disappointing Wrong Turn 3. This movie is a prequel to Wrong Turn 1-3 where the film explains the backstories of the three Cannibals from the original Wrong Turn on how and why they continue killing people. This movie also takes place miles away in the first three Wrong Turn films and it mainly takes place in an abandoned mental institution before the first three films takes place in the woods. I was on solid expectations when I was gonna watch this film and after I saw the trailer and when I watched it already I was really amazed with this film. The film is finally back to it’s serious, scary and gory roots and the film isn’t a failure like the disappointing part 3 plus thsi film followed the exact same path as Wrong Turn 1 and 2. The film itself is really nice from start to finish and the film really turned into a circus bloodbath with a strong amount of excessive heavy gore effects and heart pounding chills and scares of the first three Wrong Turn films. The great things about this film is that all of the effects in this movie aren’t CGI at all the film used the exact same practical and special effects like the first two Wrong Turn films and not the horrible CGI effects from the disappointing Wrong Turn 3. This movie seriously did a better job than the last Wrong Turn film so far. The film though still has a couple of CGI effects and there were just 98% practical and special effects in the film because there are just two scenes in the film that used CGI effects but at least it’s not too much like Wrong Turn 3 plus almost all of the kills in this movie are really good and the gore effects in this film is incredibly realistic and the violence in the film is seriously realistic, graphic, gory, brutal and disgusting at the same time. I personally like the film so far and I was enjoying it a lot. The other great things about this movie is that the film has a lot of borrowed elements from the first two Wrong Turn films and I can explain each of them. From the first Wrong Turn the elements they borrowed is mainly the Cannibals from the first movie because the Cannibals in the first movie are here in the fourth film because this film is a prequel to the first three Wrong Turn films and the Cannibals in this movie are Saw Tooth, Three Fingers and One Eye from the first Wrong Turn. While from the second movie the elements they borrowed are mainly the practical and special effects plus the make up effects of the Cannibals from the second movie as well were borrowed in this film. Since not only the film has elements from the first two Wrong Turn films the film also has similar elements from Saw and Hostel and I can also explain them. From Saw the elements they borrowed is mainly the opening scene where Doctor Ryan gets killed by getting pulled apart by the Cannibals in a machine with his arms and legs tied with Barb Wire. While from Hostel the elements they borrowed is mainly the scene where Daniel gets tortured and killed by the Cannibals by ripping his skin off with a knife and the Cannibals instantly boil it and they eat the pieces of skin of Daniel after boiling it that scene is a similar element from Hostel. This film also has a well paced plot from start to finish and the movie doesn’t have any problems at all so far. I also enjoyed the setting of this film because the setting of the movie makes you feel like your isolated and someone is coming to kill you in an isolated place where there is no hope and no help as well. Now the characters are also good some of the characters in this movie aren’t dumb this time unlike in the third film the characters in Wrong Turn 3 are dumb and not smart as well but still this film still has a couple of dumb characters but not too much like the previous Wrong Turn movie some are mainly likable and heroic as well. The scares was also good in this movie all of the scares in this film are really gonna make you jump from start to finish and you’ll instantly beg for mercy when you watch this film from the beginning until the end. Now the acting in the film is decent some of the actors and actresses in the film weren’t good with their performances in the movie but some of the casts were good so far although at least Dean Armstrong (who plays Daniel in the film and he appeared in Saw 3D as well) was able to do an excellent job than the rest of the casts though you can’t beat Dean’s acting in this film so far because he did an excellent job with his performance in this movie like in Saw 3D. Director Declan O Brien did a good job with his writing and directing with this movie so far and he seriously went to the top with this film after he went down the hill with the disappointing Wrong Turn 3 so far. Overall Wrong Turn 4 gets a 9/10.
Worst entry in the series. Outside of some gratuitous T&A and a cool intro kill, there isn’t much to comment on at all. The dialogue is beyond horrid, with the best lines saved for the inbreds (who don’t talk). I am one of the (very) few who enjoyed WT3, so being a big thumbs down on WT4 should be warning enough. Lame
I enjoyed all of the Wrong Turn movies. I guess I just like inbred cannibal hillbillys in West Virginia.
Declan O’Brien did it again: another completely stupid, completely unnecessary “Wrong Turn” sequel… er, prequel :-/
The opening scene is pretty cool (the patients of a sanatorium go bonkers while Johann Strauss’ “The Blue Danube” is playing in the background), the ending is nice and we get to see some gorgeous tits.
Everything else sucks about as much as Part 3: lame actors playing clichÃ
I haven’t seen the third film, but I had the chance to watch this, so I did.
Good: I really liked the opening scene, the hospital setting, some of the characters (Yes, I did.), the casting of Dean Armstrong (QAF US), the wheelchair scene and a few good kills.
Bad: The dialouge was stupid. A few of the characters were annoying. The soundtrack was dull, the CGI looked awful in some scenes and I hated the ending, though I expected something to happen.
Now, it isn’t the worst movie out there. It’s an alright horror flick. Worth a rental!
Iâe(TM)ve seen much worse films, but considering my expectations given the crappy 2nd sequel, this wasnâe(TM)t that bad of an entry. Had a couple of the movie mistakes been cleared up and some better acting, or hell just NO CGI, I think the film would be a solid horror flick. It was entertaining for the moment, but I doubt Iâe(TM)d give it another watch for quite a few years. Check out a more in depth review at my Horror Movie/Book review site @ ShiversOfHorror.com
Wrong turn 4âe
The worst Wrong Turn sequel yet. This movie had its enjoyable moments, but it was an overall crappy movie.
Its pretty good. Not great, it has some problems. But it gets such a good rating because it is such an improvement from 3 and 5. Its completely entertaining, the characters are not complete idiots, and its full of some pretty twisted gore. It made me wince and thats hard to do with movies like saw and Hostel coming out all the time. Bottom line its worth adding to your Wrong Turn collection.
Protagonists were totally useless and when they had the golden opportunity to kill all of them, they had this moral epiphany. I can get past the bad acting, unnecessary(Though not unwelcome ) sex scenes, some moronic decision making by the people we are supposed to root for, but I can’t get past characters who seem to have done Masters in Moronology.
I am of the opinion that if I can point plotholes and stupidity of characters, then the movie is REALLY bad. Villains were sadistic but atleast they were better than our useless protagonists. I was supporting them so atleast they will clean up the gene pool, one moron at a time.
Atleast there were lesbians
