IFC To Finally Put ‘Grabbers’ Out Into The World

Director Jon Wright’s Tremors influenced Irish horror comedy Grabbers has been on our radar for a while now, but only today did it receive a release date. IFC Films will release on July 19 under the IFC Midnight banner in select theaters and on cable VOD, iTunes, Amazon, Xbox Zune, PlayStation, SundanceNow.com and other digital VOD outlets Grabbers stars Richard Coyle, Ruth Bradley and Russell Tovey in a film that takes to “a sleepy Irish fishing village that’s forced to fend off a blood-sucking sea creature.” The new international trailer has now hit featuring new looks at the film’s creature. IFC acquired the film out of Sundance 18 months ago. READ MORE

The 16th annual Fantasia Film Festival is finally over in Montreal. It’s been a long three weeks, packed with horror movies, some good, others not so much. Overall it was a great year for the festival with over 160 films playing from a wide variety of backgrounds. Although it would be ideal to write full reviews, it would take way too many days, and way too many cups of coffee.
