I really didn't like any of the episodes, but a few were decent. However, actual 'decent' episodes are few and far between, and the show is quite awful. Even the opening credits theme was irritating.
hey all... i thought this show was realy good... for a first episode... and only 45 mins to play with, they did a great job. wow a horror based show on regular tv... i thought it was good. looking forward to the next shows..
Really not that bad. For only 45 minutes, they did quite a good job. I would have liked more characterization, but again, only 45 minutes to work with. Other than that, it is kind of refreshing that this horror story doesn't rely on gore and language. It was a well fashioned monster-story. I hope they keep it going, because I could definitely stick around for this series.
Episode 1: The Sacrifice was pretty decent, considering it is on NBC.
Four guys wander into an old fort with 3 girls there and they are hiding a dark secret.
There is a some gore (didn't expect much considering it is regular TV) and an ok story. (Its tough for them to expand on the story since it is only like 45 mins. long)
It has an interesting creature as well.
The first episode while not wonderful was enough to get me to tune next week. What else could we expect from a cable show. Just because this genre is missing from regular television I do hope it gets an audience and sticks around. I'm not hopeful though, most other attempts have failed. Kingdom Hospital, 2002-2003 Twilight Zone and even the more drama based Point Pleasant have all vanished. One major problem for me, what's with the opening credits music! Talk about not matching the visual, sounded about as far from horror as you could get. Did not set the mood well at all.
Sacrifice. While it was nothing to get excited about. It was better than i thought it would be for nbc. The story had a few wholes that could have been fixed with a little tlc. being nbc tv show I expected 0 gore. There was a little gore which was a shock for me. Over all I could tell from the first ep that fear itself wants to be masters of horror and just fell short. Sacrifice was good enough for me to make me want to watch next weeks show and hope for more from it.
Episode 1.1 Sacrifice. The first episode, which is directed by Mick Garris is nothing special. Four guys are end up in this village with these beautiful women who have never been outside of this village and seem to be bait for some creature. What could it be? We've all seen this many times before. The story was predictable and the music was overbearing. It was a decent watch but not one I would buy on DVD or watch again when it's 'unrated'.
5/10 or 2 1/2 skulls
