‘House at the End of the Street’ Gets 2012 Release

Relativity Media announced today that it will release House at the End of the Street, starring Oscar-nominee Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone), Oscar-nominee Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas) and Max Theriot (My Soul to Take) on February 3, 2012.

Directed by Mark Tonderai (Hush) and written by David Loucka (Dream House), House centers on a teen girl (Lawrence) who moves with her mom to a new town and learns that their home is next door to a house where a double murder took place. Complications ensue when the teen befriends the massacre’s sole surviving son (Thieriot). Shue costars as Lawrence’s mom.

The FilmNation Entertainment and A Bigger Boat film is produced by FilmNation Entertainment’s Aaron Ryder (The Prestige), A Bigger Boat’s Peter Block (Saw franchise), and Hal Lieberman (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines). FilmNation Entertainment will handle distribution outside of the U.S.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
