Dark Horse comic Beasts of Burden is heading to the big-screen with Shrek and Chronicles of Narnia director Andrew Adamson leading the charge, reports Heat Vision.

Adamson is producing what is intended to be a CG-animated feature adaptation with his Strange Weather Films partner Aron Warner along with Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment.

‘Burden’ is set in a community called Burden Hill where a series of supernatural events occur, causing a gang of dogs (and one cat) to team up in order to keep their owners and the town’s residents safe.

Evan Dorkin (“Milk & Cheese”) and Jill Thompson (“Scary Godmother”) created the characters, which first appeared in “The Dark Horse Book of Hauntings, Witchcraft, the Dead and Monsters,” and earned the duo Eisner Awards for best short story and best painter.

Dark Horse is teeing up RIPD, to star Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, at Universal, where it is also developing big-screen adaptations of Emily the Strange and Umbrella Academy.

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Prequel ‘Furiosa’ Rated “R” for “Strong Violence” and “Grisly Images”

Anya Taylor-Joy fights the world in George Miller’s hotly anticipated Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the upcoming prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road that’s coming next month.

Warner Bros.’ Furiosa has been rated “R” this week for…

“Sequences of strong violence, and grisly images.”

Furiosa will release in theaters on May 24, 2024. The film will tell the origin story of the character Charlize Theron made famous in Fury Road, also directed by George Miller.

“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Chris Hemsworth co-stars as Warlord Dementus.

Whereas Fury Road essentially happened over three days and two nights, this happens over many years,” Miller had teased during a press conference last year.

Miller is co-writing and directing the movie for Warner Bros.

Back in 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road grossed nearly $400 million worldwide at the box office and won SIX Oscars, while also scoring rave reviews nearly across the entire board.

Last we heard, Miller also intends on making sequels centered on Tom Hardy‘s Mad Max.
