TV: First ‘True Blood’ Promo Promises That “Nothing Stays Buried Forever”
Embedded after the break is HBO’s first promo for this summer’s return of “True Blood”. The season 5 spot teases: “In Bon Temps nothing stays buried forever.”
The footage eludes to the season 4 finale where Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare), the 2900-year-old former vampire king of Mississippi, is exhumed. While there is no footage, I’m going to roll the dice and assume that this season will be “hotter”, “sexier” and feature even more “forbidden sex” — oh, and I can’t forget there’s guaranteed to be 50% more shirts off! BOOYA!
Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the Emmy-nominated show takes place at a time when vampires have come out of the coffin, and follows the on-and-off romance between waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, and 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).
