The “Revolution” is getting closer to being televised. TV Line reports that NBC has given the green light to the hour-long thriller penned by “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke and exec produced by J.J. Abrams (Cloverfield, Let Me In) and Bryan Burk. The project is described as a “high-octane action drama that follows a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.” Sounds like an idea that spawned during the filming of the “Lost” finale.

In other news, inside you’ll find a new clip from ABC’s “The River”, a new series from Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli. “The River”‘s 8-episode Season 1 debuts February 7th, 2012. “Famed explorer Dr. Emmet Cole (Greenwood) went looking for magic deep in the uncharted Amazon and never returned. The shocking truth about his disappearance is out there, somewhere, just waiting to be discovered. To the millions of kids who grew up watching his nature show, Dr. Cole was a hero.
