UK Gets First Ever 3-D Horror Pic

Published

on

Vertigo Films (not to be confused with the Vertigo behind The Grudge and The Ring remakes) is producing what it claims will be the U.K.’s first 3-D horror pic, Elfie Hopkins and the Gammons. Project, a co-production with Size 9 Prods., will star Jaime Winstone (Donkey Punch; pictured inside) as a teen misfit and aspiring detective who lives in a rural village. Her suspicions are aroused when a mysterious family, the Gammons, move into her neighborhood. Ryan Andrews, who co-wrote the script with Riyad Barmania, will direct. The pic, which will be set and shot in Wales, will start lensing this winter. “It’s incredibly exciting to be working at the forefront of new 3-D technology, which doesn’t have to be the preserve of big-budget movies,” Matthews said.
