‘Suspiria’ Redo Scores Goblin

Published

on

Just yesterday director David Gordon Green revealed that he quite possibly could shoot his remake to Dario Argento’s colorful Suspiria next. Other info now known is that he’ll probably cast unknowns, with Natalie Portman opting to do Black Swan instead. Now, he tells Movieline that it will “sound” right.

We got the rights to the Goblin score, so we’re going to use that. Steve Jablonsky, who did the score for ‘Your Highness,’ is incredible. So I would love to see what he would do with the Goblin music. We could start in a very faithful, synthesizer kind of world of music that Goblin does in the original film, and by the end of it turn that score into a huge opera, which would be incredible.

In the original ’77 flick, a newcomer to a fancy ballet academy gradually comes to realize that the staff of the school are actually a coven of witches bent on chaos and destruction.
