I’m truly a fan of Ryuhei Kitamura, who is one of the directors who got me wayyyyy into J-horror with his genre-mashing Versus, not to mention his pretty great U.S. debut with Lionsgate’s The Midnight Meat Train.

WWE Studios and Pathe UK have rounded out the cast of Kitamura’s next horror thriller, No One Lives, with Angus Macfadyen (Saw III, Saw IV), Alexis Dziena (“Entourage”), Laura Ramsey (The Ruins, The Covenant ), Lindsey Shaw (The Howling Reborn), America Olivo (Friday the 13th, Bitch Slap, Beau Knapp (Super 8), Derek Magyar and WWE wrestler Brodus Clay.

Luke Evans had already been tapped to play the lead in the pic when it was announced at the Cannes Film Festival.

WWE and Pathe are co-financing the production that will start lensing next week in New Orleans. It’s WWE’s first horror pic since 2006’s Kane-starrer See No Evil, which grossed more than $18 million worldwide.

From a script by David Cohen, “a ruthless criminal gang takes a young couple hostage and goes to ground in an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere. When the captive girl is killed, the tables are unexpectedly turned. The gang finds itself outsmarted by an urbane and seasoned killer determined to ensure that no one lives.

Keith C. Blackmore’s book series Mountain Man is headed to the screen, with Deadline reporting today that Joe Manganiello (“True Blood”) is on board to star in the film adaptation.

The actor will also produce the upcoming zombie movie.

Mountain Man tells the story of Gus, a lonely post-apocalyptic survivor facing isolation and the ever-present specter of a zombie attack, who struggles with alcohol abuse and suicidal thoughts until he discovers another survivor, a captivating woman who poses another threat altogether.”

John Lee (False Positive) will direct Mountain Man from a script by Matt Deller.

“John is a brilliant creative mind. We’ve been looking for the right thing to do together since we filmed Pee Wee’s Big Holiday and it’s finally here,” 3:59’s Joe and Nick Manganiello told Deadline. “Very excited to get to work on such weird, wild project with him.”

Film Bridge International is launching sales on the project in Cannes.
