R.I.P. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson
Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times, the Associated Press and now even CNN. Jackson, 50, had been in a coma at the hospital, sources told CNN. For horror fans, he’ll best be remembered for his album Thriller, which in just over a year, became–and currently remains–the best-selling album of all time. Sales are estimated to be between 47-109 million copies sold worldwide. Jackson transformed the medium of music video into an art form and promotional tool through the use of complex story lines, dance routines, special effects and cameo appearances by well known personalities. When the 14-minute-long “Thriller” video aired, MTV ran it twice an hour to meet demand. The video was directed by John Landis and featured the voice talents of Vincent Price and FX work by Rick Baker.
