Courtesy of French film website Blog Didier Allouch you’ll find an extremely lengthy new interview with iconic horror director John Carpenter who chats about The Ward, his highly anticipated return to the genre he took to new heights back in 1978 with Halloween. The interview begins at around the 2:50 mark and also features some behind-the-scenes footage. Starring Amber Heard (Zombieland, Many Lane, The Stepfather) and Danielle Panabaker (Friday the 13th), The Ward follows a girl (Heard) who is admitted to a psychiatric ward, meets other girls there with distinct personalities and discovers a mysterious girl haunting the halls at night. The last time Carpenter got behind the camera for a feature film was for Ghost of Mars 8 years ago, although he helmed two (excellent) episodes of “Masters of Horror” (“Cigarette Burns”, “Pro-Life”).

Horror movie fanatic who co-founded Bloody Disgusting in 2001. Producer on Southbound, V/H/S/2/3/94, SiREN, Under the Bed, and A Horrible Way to Die. Chicago-based.
