TV: ‘Friday Night Lights’/’Super 8’ Star Courted for ‘Powers’
FX is courting Kyle Chandler (who can be seen in J.J. Abrams’ Super 8 on June 10) for the lead role in its violent drama pilot “Powers,” reports Variety.
The “Friday Night Lights” star had a meeting with the cabler’s execs recently and is considering the role. Sources emphasize that Chandler had made no commitment to “Powers” beyond the initial meeting.
The pilot, based on the graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, “centers on a pair of detectives who deal with cases involving people with superpowers.” The result is a whole lotta bloodshed.
Script was written by Charles “Chic” Eglee and Michael Dinner directs the pilot.

Now Anya must race to unlock the truth, before her descent into madness threatens to consume her mind, body and spirit. By the time she reveals the true nature of the ritual, will it be too late?”
Mind Body Spirit was written and directed by Alex Henes & Matthew Merenda.
The upcoming horror film stars Sarah J. Bartholomew, Madi Bready, KJ Flahive, Anna Knigge, and Kristi Noory, and was produced by Dan Asma and Jesse McClung.
