Midnight Releasing Acquires Leslie Easterbrook/Kane Hodder Starrer ‘The Afflicted’

Acort International, in association with Nocturnal Features and Midnight Releasing, the premier independent distributors’ for independent filmmakers, has just acquired The Afflicted from Afflicted Picturehouse for a world-wide distribution.

The film was produced by Lee Dashiell and Leslie Easterbrook and was written and directed by Jason Stoddard and executively produced by David Hilburn. The film stars horror-icon and legendary stuntman Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th, Hatchet, The Devil’s Rejects) and Leslie Easterbrook (Police Academy 1-6, The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween) in a gripping and true-life story of torment, mental and physical abuse. Torn from the headlines, this film explores the dark and deranged mind of a mentally sick woman as she uses religious rhetoric to impose her will unto her family with tragic results.

Leslie Easterbrook plays the lead role of ‘Mother Maggie’, a disturbed mother of four who delivers an unimaginable level of abuse to her children while defending her actions with her own twisted interpretations of the Bible. Three daughters live in constant fear of being beaten and abused by their mentally disturbed mother. Escaping the wrath of their mother seems impossible and proves to be deadly.” The film is based on the story of Theresa Knorr and takes you inside the lives of those who live in constant fear with no escape.
