Red-Band Bonnie and Clyde Violence In ‘God Bless America’
Acquired out of the TIFF last September is Bobcat Goldthwait’s unfortunately pretty terrible God Bless America, which Magnolia will launch on video on-demand April 6 with a theatrical run planned for May 11. With the one-sheet released last week, we’ve now landed an age-gated trailer that shares some of the “best of” moments while rocking out to Marilyn Manson’s rendition of “I Put a Spell On You”.
Also written by Goldthwait, the film concerns “Loveless, jobless, possibly terminally ill, Frank (Joel Murray) has had enough of the downward spiral of America. With nothing left to lose, Frank takes his gun and offs the stupidest, cruelest, and most repellent members of society. He finds an unusual accomplice: 16-year old Roxy (Tara Lynne Barr), who shares his sense of rage and disenfranchisement.”
