RIP former pro hockey coach John Brophy

Post by Mayday » Mon May 23, 2016 6:03 pm

Most of you probably don't know the name, but John Brophy was the 2nd winningest coach in professional hockey history with 1,027 career victories. Best known to most people who've heard of him as a former Toronto Maple Leafs head coach, he registered 416 of his wins with the ECHL's Hampton Roads Admirals. I had the pleasure of working for the team during his last three seasons (1997-2000), including a league championship in 1998. Broph was one of a kind, and I consider it an honor to have had the opportunity to work with him and continue to speak with him after the Admirals left the league.

A link to his bio is here:

RIP Broph!
