Kevin Smith Asks for ‘Red State’ Money, Mr. Disgusting Loses It

Published

I like Kevin Smith and all, but seriously, this is just f*cking mind-blowing. While out promoting his forthcoming comedy Cop Out the geek cult director went on record about his long-gestured horror flick Red State and how he hopes to get the fans to finance the film. Excuse me? I must be in the “Twilight Zone” because the last time I checked YOU’RE the big time director and we’re the ones who have given you a career. Now you want a hand out? What are you? Toyota? Anyways, read on for this ridiculousness.
Kevin SmithIn an interview with Cinssu Kevin Smith explains that he’s looking to set up a website where fans can donate to the cause.

We’re kind of creating this website. We’re seeing if it works to set up and collect donations. It becomes a weird tax nightmare, though…It sounded like such an easy thing online…but now there’s lots of checks and balances to make sure we can do it, but if that’s the case, I would be into it, and I’ll match it. Whatever you raise on line, like fuck it, you put it up, I’ll put it up.

Wow, so nice of you. Anyone want to donate some money to Bloody Disgusting so we can service you better? I’m seriously out of my mind over this — we buy his comics, his toys, his movies, his freakin’ everything! Whatever.

Pushing beyond my fury, here’s a taste of what kinda film it is:

It’s so fucking vicious and nasty and mean and stark and it’s not funny… It’s this weird fucking dark little seventies horror movie…that nobody wants to make.

Ok, I’m fuming again. So, if nobody wants to make it, then how would me putting in my hard earned cash be a sound investment? I’d rather invest in him cutting that goddamn mullet. Go away.
