What monsters should die? What monsters should we shed more light on?

As we all know when it comes to movie monsters there are some that are overplayed and some that are overshadowed. I have composed a list of what I think.

Should Die (as a sub genre)
[*]ZOMBIES- They have been popularized for way too many years. Since around 2004 and still going! Overkill?\
[*]Killer Kids
[*]Possesions
What we need to see more of
[*]The Djinn- A bad ass Genie? That is awesome! I am a fan of the Wishmasters, the concept is awesome.

If you havent seen Under the Shadow yet, definitely check it out.

I dont really agree with not using certain monsters anymore, but I do think certain ones like you mentioned need to be more creative when they are used. We have way too many Exorcism of XXXXXX movies out there and most of them are essentially the same movie. I dont want to say no to possession movies completely though, because he have gotten some decent ones like Conjuring and others mixed in there.

When it comes to zombies... they should never die.. just be used wisely. ;)

I get it though..

Let's leave vampires alone for a while. :|

Definitely agree about the Djinn - I read about them in a book by Rosemary Ellen Guiley in connection with the shadow people and thought "why the hell have I never heard of these things before?!"

I also wouldn't mind seeing more werewolf movies - I used to love werewolves when I was a kid and haven't seen many decent ones as of late...
