Inked Pictures Announces Hardbox Releases for September

Published

on

Last week Jonny Bunning mentioned some limited edition wooden box set releases for Halloween and The Crow coming out of Germany. The company responsible for those releases is Inked Pictures and as it turns out they’re very much into limited edition releases. They have a few very limited hardbox Blu-rays coming out on September 30, 2015. Hardboxes are really made for collectors that have a soft spot for VHS. They’re kind of reminiscent of the old clam shell cases that VHS used to come in except they’re made for Blu-ray. They’re usually released in Germany and typically come in very limited numbers. These upcoming releases from Inked Pictures for example will be limited to 50 each. That makes them pretty rare.

The September hardbox releases from Inked Pictures include King of New York, Dark Night of the Scarecrow, Needful Things and Frankenhooker. They all look pretty cool. I’ve yet to get into the hardbox releases myself, but with all these goodies coming out I may just have to start adding some to my collection.

To keep it up to date with all the limited edition releases coming from Inked Pictures (and there’s a lot of them!) be sure to visit them on Facebook.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
