Scream Factory Releases Full Details on The Paul Naschy Collection

A while back when it was announced that Scream Factory would be releasing a collection of Paul Naschy films on Blu-ray I was slightly taken aback. Not because I was disappointed mind you, quite the opposite. The more Naschy films that become available on Blu-ray, the better. I am absolutely thrilled by this news. But it did shock me a bit because I would never have expected Scream Factory to release a single Naschy film on Blu-ray, let alone a whole collection. It’s not that Scream Factory has shied away from more obscure titles because they haven’t but Naschy does feel like his work could be a smidge too niche for the company. Either way I’m very pleased they’re putting this set out — it’s good for Naschy fans and it indicates we could see even more weird obscure stuff from Scream going forward.

Scream Factory recently released the specifics of the set and it looks like it’s going to be everything we could want. The 5-disc set will be released on June 20th and contains 5 films — Vengeance of the Zombies, Horror Rises from the Tomb, Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll, Night of the Werewolf and Human Beasts — and each film comes loaded with special features. 3 of the 5 films feature brand-new audio commentaries with Rod Barnett and Troy Guinn, hosts of NaschyCast. Check out the full details below and for the really extreme die-hard Naschy lovers be sure to order directly from ShoutFactory.com and get your copy shipped two weeks early!

I don’t know what this is. I just know, in my heart, that it needs a MCU style action reboot starring Tom Cruise. As does every movie. Ever.

Why do you lurk on Scream Factory’s posts just to spout the same old bullshit? Let people enjoy their releases, if you don’t like them just buzz off and move on with your miserable life.

It lacks the introductions Paul Naschy and the audiocomnentary Paul Naschy and Carlos Aured did for the old Deimos DVDs. Sadly, this editions are long out of print, and if you don’t have them this collection is really good (I particularly like Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll, Human Beasts and Night of the Werewolf). If you have them, don’t bother with this set.
