Even though Ridley Scott has openly stated that there’s not a lot of footage cut from his Alien: Covenant, the Prometheus sequel and Alien prequel that underperformed at the box office earlier this summer, the home video release boasts nearly 20 minutes of deleted scenes. One potential scene includes James Franco’s character back on Earth with Daniels before his death.

Fox Home Entertainment has already slated the home video release, with Amazon showing it dated for August 15, 2017, AvP Galaxy noted.

There are almost 100 minutes of special features including an audio commentary from director Ridley Scott, 12 deleted scenes and a few featurettes, most of which we’ve already seen. The big documentary is Master Class: Ridley Scott which is almost an hour in length. Thankfully, the excellent Luke Scott-directed companions pieces are all included.

There’s another interesting Limited Edition release that is an exclusive to American retailer Target, notes the site. This one contains a 36-page booklet containing photos and sketches from Alien: Covenant.
