Alice Cooper and Vincent Price’s 1975 Special “The Nightmare” Coming to DVD for First Time!
Meanwhile, Cooper’s new album arrives on July 28th!
The exciting news was revealed by the Nights With Alice Cooper Facebook page this week that an upcoming DVD release will include not only the 1976 Welcome to My Nightmare concert film, but also… FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER… the 1975 TV special “Alice Cooper: The Nightmare”!
Featuring special guest Vincent Price, the Emmy-winning “The Nightmare” was a conceptual television special showcasing the music of Cooper’s Welcome To My Nightmare album. It originally broadcast in North America on April 25, 1975.
In the TV special, Alice Cooper stars as “Steven” who is trapped in a nightmare he can’t wake up from and tries to escape. Vincent Price also appears throughout the special, starring as the “Spirit of the Nightmare”. The special features the Welcome To My Nightmare album in its entirety, with the addition of the song “Ballad of Dwight Fry” from the Alice Cooper album Love It to Death.
The special received a VHS release in the 1980s, but has to date never been officially released on DVD. That changes when Welcome to My Nightmare: Special Edition arrives on September 8, 2017.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones.
