Scream Factory’s ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night’ Blu-ray Includes New Features & Figure!

Published

For me personally, the most exciting announcement to come out this year’s San Diego Comic Con was that Scream Factory would be releasing a brand new Silent Night, Deadly Night Collector’s Edition Blu-ray this coming holiday season. The controversial 1984 film is my all-time favorite slasher, and it’s long been my #1 most requested title from Scream Factory.

Well, it looks like they’ve FAR exceeded even my wildest expectations for this one.

Arriving December 5, the 2-disc Collector’s Edition set comes complete with a transfer restored from the original vaulted film negative and hours of BRAND NEW bonus material. Coolest of all, Scream Factory is also offering a limited edition set that includes a poster, slipcover and an exclusive Billy/Killer Santa action figure from NECA!

“This 8-inch clothed Billy Chapman action figure is dressed in a fabric Santa suit with removable sculpted hat and features the authorized likeness of actor Robert Brian Wilson. The figure is fully poseable and comes with an ax accessory in window box packaging.”

The bonus features include…

  • Original Theatrical and Unrated versions of the film taken from a NEW 4K scan of the original Camera negative.
  • NEW Slay Bells Ring: The Story of Silent Night, Deadly Night – featuring interviews with writer Michael Hickey, co-executive producers Scott J. Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, editor/second unit director Michael Spence, composer Perry Botkin and actor Robert Brian Wilson
  • NEW Oh Deer! – an interview with Linnea Quigley
  • NEW Christmas in July –  Silent Night, Deadly Night Locations – then and now
  • NEW audio commentary with actor Robert Brian Wilson and co-executive producer Scott J. Schneid
  • Original Theatrical Trailer
  • Original TV spots and Radio Spot
  • Audio Commentary by Michael Hickey, Perry Boykin, Scott J. Schneid and Michael Spence
  • Audio interview with director Charles E. Sellier, Jr.
  • Santa’s Stocking of Outrage
  • Poster and Still Gallery

Over on Scream Factory’s website, you can now pre-order either the Standard Version or the Deluxe Version, the latter of which is limited to 2,000 orders and comes complete with the aforementioned Silent Night, Deadly Night action figure. It’ll cost you $64.93, but we must remind you that the figure won’t be available again once it sells out.

So if you want it, don’t hesitate!

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
