Revenge Thriller ‘M.F.A.’ Gets Friday the 13th Release Date

Published

on

There was a time when a new Friday the 13th movie was set to be released this coming Friday, October 13, but that unfortunately didn’t work out as planned. And that’s totally fine, as we’re getting both Brawl in Cell Block 99 and Happy Death Day in its place.

Also releasing that day? The acclaimed revenge thriller M.F.A. (read our review)!

Dark Sky Films just announced that M.F.A. will be available in select theaters and on digital platforms October 13.

The film, from director Natalia Leite and writer Leah McKendrick, takes on the searing current issue of sexual violence on campus…

“Noelle (Francesca Eastwood), an art student struggling to find her voice, is sexually assaulted by a fellow classmate. Attempting to cope with her trauma, she impulsively confronts her attacker, leading to a violent altercation that culminates in his accidental death. Noelle tries to return to normalcy, but when she discovers she is only one of many silenced sexual assault survivors on campus, she takes justice into her own hands. A vigilante is born – retribution is the inspiration she’s been waiting for.”

The cast also includes Leah McKendrick, Clifton Collins Jr. and Peter Vack.
