‘Cloverfield’ and ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Head to 4K Ultra HD

As producer, J.J. Abrams has created a deeply fascinating universe of sorts with Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane, and that world will be expanded upon with this year’s third installment in the franchise – if we can even call it one. The untitled next installment, as we learned this week, will arrive in theaters on April 20, 2018.

Just in time, we’ve learned that Paramount Home Video will be releasing both Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane on 4K Ultra HD this month, specifically January 23.

The 4K Ultra HD releases are equipped with the High Dynamic Range feature, meaning the films will have brighter, deeper colors and four times the resolution of HD.

Both will also include a Blu-ray disc and digital copy.

Finally, the title the world has been clamoring for on 4K ultra high definition…CLOVERFIELD. Let’s hope The Blair Witch Project is soon to follow. Showcasing the quality of low budget hand held found footage movies is the reason 4K exists.

It will certainly be interesting to see exactly what the gains are for a movie shot how it was.
