Sam Raimi’s ‘Drag Me to Hell’ Gets New HD Transfer From Scream Factory!

Before Sam Raimi brought us back to the woods with the Evil Dead remake and Starz original series “Ash vs Evil Dead”, he went back to his Deadite roots with the awesome Drag Me to Hell (2009), which is coming to Blu-ray in the Ultimate Collector’s Edition from Scream Factory on February 13, 2018.

The Collector’s Edition boasts new HD masters of the theatrical and unrated cuts, both taken from the 2K digital intermediate.

It also includes Production Diaries – with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with co-writer/director Sam Raimi, actors Allison Lohman, Justin Long, David Paymer, Dileep Rao, Lorna Raver, special effects guru Greg Nicotero, director of photography Peter Deming, and more, vintage interviews with director Sam Raimi and actors Alison Lohman and Justin Long, a new interviews with actresses Alison Lohman, Lorna Raver, and composer Christopher Young, a still gallery, theatrical trailer, and TV spots.

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is on her way to having it all: a devoted boyfriend (Justin Long), a hard-earned job promotion, and a bright future. But when she has to make a tough decision that evicts an elderly woman from her house, Christine becomes the victim of an evil curse. Now she has only three days to dissuade a dark spirit from stealing her soul before she is dragged to hell for an eternity of unthinkable torment.

Gateway Horror Classic ‘The Gate’ Returns to Life With Blu-ray SteelBook in May

One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!

The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences.
