Last Year’s Shark Attack Film ’47 Meters Down’ Just Hit Netflix

While we wait for 48 Meters Down...

The story of director Johannes Roberts’ 47 Meters Down is an interesting one, as the film was originally set for a direct-to-video release in 2016. In fact, many copies of the DVD ended up on store shelves before being pulled when the decision was made to release it theatrically. At the box office, the film ended up being a surprise hit. Go figure.

Six months after its surprising theatrical release, 47 Meters Down hit Netflix today!

47 Meters Down is full of bite; vicious enough for the hardcore horror audience, while also providing an immense amount of thrills for everyone else,” Brad wrote in his review.

In 47 Meters Down

Sisters Lisa (Mandy Moore) and Kate (Claire Holt) become trapped at the bottom of the ocean when a diving expedition to observe sharks goes horribly wrong. When the cable attaching the cage sinks to the bottom of the ocean, the sisters must figure out a way to get back to safety battling injuries, lack of oxygen, and worst of all, bloodthirsty, great white sharks.

the ending was indeed a mind fuck (in a great way and it also gives the viewer options…i won’t say any more so as not to spoil anything for anyone). yeah, i loved this movie too. the only thing i wish was different was Mandy’s whining throughout much of the film. LOL.
no offense to her because i DO like her but the whining got a bit much.

MrX13, i’ve noticed you and i tend to like many of the same movies/tv shows. i think you’ll end up liking/loving this movie! imo it’s awesome and is actually scary as fuck in some scene (the underwater cliff scene in particular terrifies me to my core). i hope you like it!
whenever you get around to watching it, let me know what you think of the film!

So I watched 47 Meters Down and that was a pretty good movie. She was brave to swim over that cliff because that look scary as hell not knowing what could come up and grab me. But that ending was a surprise, good ending to the movie. I enjoyed it.

I hope 48 Meters Down can top that movie, if possible

Absolutely loved this one. It was one of my favorites I saw in theaters last summer. I bought it also when it came out on DVD

Netflix is using the original title ‘In The Deep’.

  • It’s hitting the american Netflix and getting released this week in Portugal.

There wasn’t really anything hardcore about 47 Meters, but I it was pleasantly surprising.

    possible spoilers
liked this, as I tend to like most animal attacks movies, despite the majority of them being awful. This one wasn’t bad, but the ending was very predictable. It actually confused me a bit as (possible spoilers) I wasn’t sure at which point she was supposed to have started hallucinating
