The ‘Inside’ Remake Hits VOD Tomorrow With Physical Release in February

On January 12, 2018, Vertical Entertainment cuts deep into Kidnapped and Extinction director Miguel Ángel Vivas‘ Inside, his remake of Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s French slasher masterpiece À l’intérieur.

Vivas’ remake will be released in limited theaters and on VOD outlets tomorrow, and we’ve just learned today that Lionsgate is bringing it home on February 13, 2018.

According to the Amazon listing, Inside will be released only on DVD, which is needless to say fairly odd. We’re doing some more digging in regards to a Blu-ray release.

The new take stars Rachel Nichols (The Loop, Tokarev, Fantastic Four) as a pregnant woman who is being attacked by Laura Harring (Mulholland Drive, Inland Empire, Love in the Time of Cholera, The Punisher), a lunatic who wants her baby. Benedict Seal reviewed the film out of the UK FrightFest, calling it “messy and unpleasant.”

In the film, “Pregnant and depressed, a young widow tries to rebuild her life following the fateful car accident where she lost her husband and partially lost her hearing. Now, about to go into labor, she’s living in a remote house in the suburbs when, one Christmas night, she receives an unexpected visit from another woman with a devastating objective: to rip the child she’s carrying from inside her. But a mother’s fury when it comes to protecting her child should never be underestimated. Rachel Nichols and Laura Harring play the two main roles in this brutal and bloody hand-to-hand combat.”

So I’m going into this one with an open mind, hoping for the best, PRAYING it’s not another Martyrs……

And why the hell couldn’t they have released it in time for last Xmas?
    What a wasted damn opportunity……

The original Inside is one of my favourite Xmas movies, so let’s hope for the best…..

had the chance to see this already. It’s on the same level as the martyrs remake imo. Just unnecessary…..

So basically direct to video? What’s the point then of remaking it in the first place? The original had minimal dialogue and a fairly decent dub on the DVD if you can’t read subtitles.

What’s the point of you being on here whining and complaining about it which no one is forcing you to watch it

  • Kyle Ord

It actually not that bad not a movie

Unfortunately it’s all destroyed for me with the ending.

Ultimately nothing will beat the original

The first half of the movie is ok. It’s an enjoyable home invasion movie for like 45 minutes, even as a watered down version of the original Inside. In the second half the movie deviates from the original and it’s there when it becomes silly. Also the ending is awful.
I loved Kidnapped and Extinction was good, I hope the director makes something good next.

That’s why its called a remake for America

i was going to watch this last night but just couldn’t get interested enough to do so. i’m not saying i know it will be a bad movie or anything but i just already love the original so why bother watching this new film? i absolutely love the director’s film EXTINCTION so maybe that’s enough impetus for me to watch this new film.

Here’s a solution don’t buy it and watch it

    • Simon Allen

      It stinks .

  • Wil McMullen

I really didn’t see the need for this movie to be remade. Sorry to say after viewing this movie, it did nothing to change my view. Just s waste.

    • theundead

I really didn’t see the need for you to come on here complaining over a movie which no one is forcing you to watch and buy it

arent u just sick of this? its 2010s and yet people are still refusing to watch a movie coz it is forigen or has actors who arent american arrrrrrrrgh what kind of bs is that? they keep making us watch movies TWICE just to have different actors. funniest thing was when they remade REC in us but they filmed it in a hotel that looked european!! and they cast guys with dark hair who basically looked spanish to play the fire fighters bah hahaah

  • Simon Allen

Don’t bother ….its a pale, bloodless imitation of the original with actors that aren’t up to the task, unimaginative direction and a tacked on third act that is as needless as it is stupid .
Also the movies has some of the worst acting, by the supporting cast, that i’ve seen in a long long time .
    File under epic fail .

remember the rec remake lol same movie with less blood

      • Simon Allen

Ya know i was kinda impressed with Quarantine …..go figure 🙂 .

        • DJ sTikInsEkT

i watched it back to back after REC so it didnt do much for me sadly. maybe if i waited awhile. i remember one scene being different something to do with elevator but i remember less bloody parts

          • Simon Allen

Ah could be …..i saw REC as soon as it came out so there was a pretty major gap between the two and i was really fearing the worse and was happily surprised when i still shat myself (figuratively of course) LOL !! I also thought Jennifer Carpenter did fine job as the female lead .
Of course Quanratine 2 – Terminal was VERY aptly titled . 🙂

          • DJ sTikInsEkT

i wish they just dubbed rec instead as i felt the hotel in quarntine looked european right? so it didnt appeal to usa anyway and the firemen actors all looked european too! then quarantine could been similar us remake but not in hotel a different location all together. i always watch both versions and it felt too similar, which was the point i know but i would rather they just dub forigen movies instead.

  • Maphew Smirf

Spoiler: This movie is one of the biggest pieces of shit I’ve ever seen.

Not even gonna give it a watch. Americanized and sanitied remakes of foreign horror films rarely hold a candle to their counterparts and this one won’t be an exception. From the trailer you can see they are toning the graphic violence and gore the original had (what made the original so memorable).

  • DJ sTikInsEkT

i dont want anything 2 do with them frenchies after they did baby face
