As great as the Universal Monsters: Essential Collection Blu-ray set is, it only contains all eight core Universal Monsters movies, and *not* the various sequels and spinoffs that were included with the individual “Legacy Collection” DVDs. As of 2016, however, the Dracula, Wolf Man, Frankenstein and Mummy Legacy Collections have hit Blu-ray.

And on August 28, we’ve just learned, the Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Invisible Man complete legacy collections will finally be arriving on Blu-ray as well!

The Creature set includes Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), Revenge of the Creature (1955) and The Creature Walks Among Us (1956). Of particular note, Revenge of the Creature has been given a new 3D restoration.

The Invisible Man set includes The Invisible Man (1933), The Invisible Man Returns (1940), The Invisible Woman (1940), Invisible Agent (1942), The Invisible Man’s Revenge (1944) and Abbot and Costello Meet the Invisible Man (1951).

Thanks to Just the Discs Pod for the heads up on this one.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
