We Found Another ‘V/H/S’ Tape

VHS-Viral

This shit’s gonna go viral.

ScreenDaily was the first to report on V/H/S Viral, which will complete our V/H/S trilogy.

We’re excited to reveal that the latest installment of the franchise features segments directed by Marcel Sarmiento (Deadgirl, the incredible The ABCs of Death segment “D Is for Dogfight”) ), Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes, Extraterrestrial), Gregg Bishop (The Other Side, Dance of the Dead), Todd Lincoln (The Apparition), Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution, Spring).

“V/H/S Viral focuses on fame-obsessed teens who unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation.

Justin Welborn and Emmy Argo are among the cast.

Marcel Sarmimento, TJ Cimfel, Dave White, Gregg Bishop, Nacho Vigalondo, Justin Benson, Aaron Moorehead and Lincoln wrote the screenplays.

Epic Pictures Group will commence sales in Cannes. Epic sold the V/H/S franchise in Berlin 2012 following a suitably controversial tee-up in Sundance that year when several audience members fainted during the world premiere.

  • marklola12 .

the 1st had some OK parts, the 2nd was on the whole total and utter crap

    • Maxime C

You are the fist person to say that ever on the internet in my knowledge.
You can’t deny that number 1 had some REALLY cool parts, and at least New Heaven convinced you in number 2 !!

      • numberthirty

He is not the only one who felt that way.

The close of the second film was laughable.

Its right mate. Both of them films had some awesome segments( i watched both films back to back for the first time in one sitting so it was basicaly one big movie to me) that cult one that the raid bloke did was fuckin epic(safe haven or whatever it was called. The fp zombie one. And that chick in the hotel room in the first film). Sweet films man. If you’ve still got any of them limited edition vhs copys still knocking around ill buy em off you(ive just sold my lawnmower).

  • Keegsta

Incredibly excited for a third film. The first actually had some creepy vibes and moments. The second felt like more of a fun version of the first since there was almost no scares at all. Can’t wait to see what is in store in this one!

  • Connor David Cooke

Some of those choices are really good! Some of them, very questionable though.
I would have loved to see Under the bed/Silent night director Steven C Miller get a segment!
Or even Hatchet III helmer BJ McDonnell! Or Lucky McKee or Fede Alvarez! Or Brandon Cronenberg!

Todd Lincoln strikes me as an odd choice because lets face it, the Apparition despite having a solid ass concept is a pretty bad movie.
But I do like Todd Lincoln as a person so maybe this will be the good second chance he needs to make something great!
Apparition stinks of studio intervention anyways..

  • Maxime C

I really enjoyed both movies, even though number 1 is sort of better.
As for this one, can’t wait, sure, but I’m not sure about the whole teen thing. Like, aren’t all shorts supposed to be…totally different?
Whatever, I sure will check it out !!

  • Nick M.

First movie is ok, 2nd is nearly unwatchable imo. Hope this is better.

    • Christopher Pelton

Thank you form the imo. Everybody should do that. IMHO. :)

  • GhostCruiser

The previous movies weren’t great other than a few tapes. hope this on is better

  • Chandler Of-Adelaide

I only liked one segment in the first (the invincible being in the woods) and two segments in the second (the cult segment and the alien segment). The rest were boring and/or annoying. So maybe the third one I’ll find three segments that I enjoy…or overall it’ll be mediocre and dull like the first two :P

  • Krug09

Personally I love the V/H/S movies. I saw them once each lol but i do really enjoy them. I look forward to the next.

  • ThunderDragoon

I loved the first two. I have no idea why they would choose the person who directed The Apparition to do a segment. That’s a terrible decision. He could prove me wrong, and maybe his segment will be my favorite. I don’t have much hope for that happening, though.

  • Sil Perez

Looking forward to it, but I think it’s gonna be really hard to top Safe Haven.

  • MySodaIsPregnant

Is this one going to actually be any good?

    • Chamber

Screw you, hippie. The first and second weren’t classics, but they did contain some very well made segments by some very talented people.

  • Ress EZ

Why not make a poll for our choosing of which directors will get a segment, Mr. D? BD is still producing it right?

  • eagleye

Disappointed Simon Barrett and Adam Wingard are not attached to this one, as they were in the first two films. Their presence will sorely missed.

  • Chamber

Holy shit! Deadgirl is one of my all time favorite horror films, and D for Dogfight was the most visually stunning segment in ABC’s. This last installment in the VHS franchise look to be the best of the lot. I am really looking forward to it!

  • Dr. Storm Crow

Pretty stoked for this. I have to say this is likely one of my favorite anthology series of all time.

  • http://mitchmacready.blogspot.com/ Zombie-Killa

I’ll watch, but the first two V/H/S films are very hit and miss for me.

Yeah, I loved, LOVED Safe Have in V/H/S 2, but everything else was so-so or barley decent. And that Slumber Party Alien Abduction short? Pure dogshit (those blaring horn noises, ugh).

Also, kind of bummed out by the premise, because I was hoping for a reveal for who’s behind collecting the tapes, the masterminds. Why are the collecting them, and for what purpose? Oh well. lol.

  • Shane Watson

i really hope they change the name to v/h/s/3 just to be consistent, but other than that, im excited
