Peter Stormare, pictured, has joined the cast of its upcoming fantasy motion picture Welcome to Purgatory as one of the main antagonists as the character of ‘Lucius’, Cupsogue Pictures announced today.
Stormare, who has starred in many blockbusters including Fargo (1996); Jurassic Park 2 (1997); Armageddon (1998) and Constantine (2005), and more recently in Hansel and Gretel (2013), The Last Stand (2013) and 22 Jump Street (2014) will star as ‘Lucius’, a fallen angel who unleashes Hell upon the afterlife. Stormare joins a cast that currently includes Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II), James Buckley (“The Inbetweeners”), Jillian Murray (Bad Ass), Nathan Jones (Troy, Mad Max: Fury Road), Jack O’Halloran (Superman, King Kong), and Stephen Marcus (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Quills).
The picture is being executive-produced by horror legend Scott Spiegel, and directed by Gene Fallaize.
Welcome to Purgatory follows three new arrivals – Willis, Taylor and Danni – as they navigate this fresh vision of the Afterlife, helped along the way by trusty Guardian Paul. They find the afterlife in ruins amidst a growing war between Good and Evil. The new arrivals must find a way to put things right to prevent an eternal battle between good and evil.
Scott Spiegel, Tony Cook and Victoria Fallaize will be producing the picture for Cupsogue Pictures, which was written by Tony Cook, Gene Fallaize & Marcus Ako, and Gene Fallaize will be directing.
Filming is due to commence on Welcome to Purgatory at the start of 2015 at Pinewood Studios in London, ahead of a theatrical release in 2015.
