Recently, I got the chance to sit with acclaimed music producer/engineer/musician/plug-in developer Joey Sturgis, who is widely considered one of the best studio minds for the metalcore scene. Sturgis is the man behind such artists as Asking Alexandria, Of Mice And Men, I See Stars, Conquer Divide, Blessthefall, Born Of Osiris, The Acacia Strain, and many, many more. He has garnered numerous gold and platinum awards and could almost be thought of as the official Sumerian Records studio guru, considering the number of their artists that he works with.
In this 30+ minute exclusive video interview, I got to dive into the mind of Sturgis and how he got to where he is. We discussed his beginnings, his approaches, his future goals, and the empire that he is building. Head below to check it out!
