Haha, I never heard of it so I looked it up and the first thing I read is "Alfred Hitchcock called 'Rope' an 'experiment that didnít work out,' and he was happy to see it kept out of release for most of three decades."
I think Hitch second guessed himself a lot. I've read interviews from differing time periods and his opinions on other movies like Frenzy and North By Northwest have gone back and forth. It could have just been that he was getting old.
Before I used to order from US sites, the english sites that sold Criterions were way overpricederion, so as a result I have a lot of Criterion released movies... Just not the ones released by Criterion.
Not all of us have tons of money to blow on dvds....I buy them when I can afford them, If I can't I burn them. I barely have enough money for rent & you expect me to spend what I do have left all on dvds? That money goes towards my other bills & food. If I don't have money for bills, I don't have a house & what good is a dvd when you don't have a place to watch it?
Anyways, some of them are real dvds they just don't have covers because that's how I got them...my uncle works at Blockbuster & gave me a ton of horror dvds that didn't sell that they were supposed to "dispose" of, but most didn't have covers.
You should try the slim I think 7mm? cases, saves you a TON of space on the bootlegs.
But, it's a nice collection, except for your wal-mart racks. I own 4 of them & fuckin despise them! which is why I recently upgraded.
Haha yeah...the Wal-mart racks are good if you don't move them. We just moved our collection into the living room before taking this pic & half the movies fell off the shelf when we set it down lol. If they are just sitting there they are fine. I have a larger bookcase from Walmart that's like 6 1/2 feet tall, but I don't think it will fit in my car that's why I haven't brought it over yet since I moved.
