Alright, my revised list of the franchise films from top to bottom would go as follows:
1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre(1974)
2. Texas Chainsaw Massacre(2003)
3. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
4. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
5. Texas Chainsaw 3D
6. Texas Chainsaw Massacre III
7. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation
I've pretty much found elements of all the films that I like (yes, even the very terrible TNG). TCM 3D fell behind TCM 2 for me because TCM 2 has that '80's horror vibe that I love so much, & even though Dan Yeager gives a better peformance than Bill Johnson does, in this movie Leatherface is more of a character, even if those moments are highly comedic, whereas in TCM 3D he's more akin to a Jason clone.
With the way TCM 3D was handled, it didn't actually give many opportunities for Leatherface to be seen as more than just a hulking killer (ala the original).
Thousands, and thousands of movies? I don't think Roger Ebert has seen that many. There is NO way.
You lie boy, you lllliiiiieeee!
I've seen a couple of thousand movies in just the past couple of years (I've been keeping tabs on them online). So, it's absolutely possible for someone to have seen "thousands and thousands of movies", depending on their age. And, considering that I'm a fairly old fuck, I'm pretty sure that I've seen thousands and thousands of movies in my life, so far.
I can't remember most of the fucking things, mind you.
