        We're almost there

To mail me a story by sometime Monday night or from that midnight to Tuesday morning, just click my name and go to my profile, send me a PM or e-mail with your story. Best to copy and paste it to the body of the e-mail or PM since I have a knock-off word processor that doesn’t seem to like the usual format of the common Windows word processor.

I'm thinking I'll post the stories both here and on the new boards, vote where ever you like, even both, the way I keep track of things it won't be a problem.

I'll post one story a day and leave them open for 8 days, that is closing them the same day on the following week. Once all is done I'll post the scores. Top score is the winner, plus a note as to who did the best in each of the 3 categories of Readability, Concept, and Atmosphere.

As we've seen in the past, the winner has yet to take all 3 categories.
I met her, fifteen years ago; I was told there was nothing left; no reason, no conscience, no understanding; and not even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this cow, with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes... the devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach her, and then another seven trying to keep her locked up because I realized that what was living behind that cow's eyes was purely and simply... evil.

I got a couple stories in so far, so I'm gonna start posting them one a day.

I'm still accepted stories up through tomorrow morning as previously stated, so the deadline hasn't changed at all. So put those finishing touches on your stories and send them in please.

As I said in the post above, I'll be posting the stories on both forums, so vote on which ever board you prefer or even copy and paste your reviews to both boards

That's it for this year, only 3 stories, while I certainly would have wished for 2-3 more. I'm not upset at anyone, I know I've had trouble myself worrying if I'll make the deadline and I'm running the thing.

Everyone is as welcome as ever to write something for the Fall Write Off

Stories will be open til the day they were posted of next week. And everyone is welcome to vote.

This Spring's write off is now over, we got some great stories and some really close scores.

Story #1: The Itch At The End Of The World Willowfang
              Readability: 3.875 (Highest Readability)
              Concept: 4.00
              Atmosphere: 3.875
              Total: 3.917 (Highest Atmosphere)

Story #2: Footsteps by Erebus Dirge
              Readability: 3.60
              Concept: 4.10 (Highest Concept)
              Atmosphere: 3.60
              Total: 3.767

Story #3: Sutter Dixon by Spaced
              Readability: 3.25
              Concept: 3.875
              Atmosphere: 3.75
              Total: 3.625

This is my first win and I had a lot of fun writing mine. Looks like the modifications to rating Atmosphere worked well since our last write off.

Our next write off will start it's specific discussion on the first Monday of August, writing on the first Monday of September for 6 weeks and the posting of stories a couple of weeks before Halloween so we can have something to read before and not after this time.

              ========

I also may need some help running it this fall since I'll prolly be busy with my Wedding in October. I don't know if this looks hard or not, but it really isn't. Just need to be there to make a few decision if something comes up, be there to receive the stories, make sure they're post-able, nothing racist, too graphic, pornographic, or some other sort of offensive. Then just a little math you can do with the calculator on your phone or computer.

I'll remind people when we start up in August, just something to think about.
