Where does Clint show up in Tarantula? I've seen it number of times but I don't remember ever spotting him.
Must revisit The Blob, original and remake, sometime soon. Might have a blob night.

It sucked on ice. Gawd, it was horrible.

The sequels are garbage, but it did get a decent remake.

The re-make was decent because it was back in the 80's when re-makes weren't flooding the market and not really looked down upon. (Same with The Thing)

Good point, but I look at the remake now and I can't help thinking: Why did I like this movie again? I mean, the gore factor was decent, but there were some scenes that looked waaaayyy too cheesy

I own it and enjoy it. It's nowhere near as good as the first, or the remake for that matter, but it's still fun... c'mon, it eats a fucking kitten in it! How cool is that? It scared me as a small child, though... the image of the man in the chair completely covered by it stuck with me for years, in particular.

Love the Blob. Now THERE'S an original and truly terrifying monster, one that just eats and grows and eats and grows and can through any space. Yikes. Although, I believe it's sort of a rip off of "The Chicken Heart that Conquered the World" or whatever that radio play was. But don't quote me on that, I could be wrong.

I believe Clint played a pilot in one of the jets, if I recall correctedly. Love love LOVE Tarantula!

80s remakes are superior. The only one I hate is the Invaders From Mars remake.

Oh, and the Godzilla remake wasn't as good as the original.

I'll keep an eye out next time I watch it.
God DAMN, Jack Arnold directed some great movies.

Last night I rented both the 1958 and 1988 versions of The Blob on VHS and watched them back-to-back. That was great. I hadn't seen the original and it had been years since I'd seen the remake. They're both awesome movies but I probably like the original most. The funny thing is that the original ended by almost foreshadowing our current climate change issue. I was surprised by that. One can make a modern version that continues the story of the original and I noticed on IMBd that there maybe something in the works for a 2011 re-make. So that might be the premise of it. The only problem with continuing the story in that way is that you risk basically re-making Thaw, which I was disappointed by.

Rob Zombie is in talks to write and direct the remake.

I admittedly haven't seen the original but the remake is awesome. I wasn't really expecting much while watching it but it was really good. Have you seen the 1970's sequel to the original called Son of the Blob?

I have not seen Son of the Blob. I'll have to check it out.

I hope Rob Zombie doesn't make it. I enjoyed Ho1C and DR but I'm no longer interested in his remakes of classics. He should just stop, I think. Ti West should make it. That would be cool.

If you really like the Blob, then Son of Blob / Beward of the Blob will be worth your time.

It's pretty light on story and barely stands alone as a movie if at all. It's more like a bunch of kills strung together about as well as the sex scenes in a porno.

So if you want to see more blob kill scenes/set-ups, then it'll be enjoyible enough.
I met her, fifteen years ago; I was told there was nothing left; no reason, no conscience, no understanding; and not even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this cow, with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes... the devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach her, and then another seven trying to keep her locked up because I realized that what was living behind that cow's eyes was purely and simply... evil.

I like the Blob, but I think the remake was much better. And I've never heard of Son of the Blob, but I thought the Beware! sequel sucked bad.
