Just finished watching this for the first time. Really good, really liked it. The way Noe handles incest was really different. Most of the time directors portray it in a vile sinister way. With the 'Butcher' he made it seem like a sincere act of devotional love. Very different. If you've been on the fence about seeing this, don't hesitate. Worth it.

I really need to see this as Irreversible and Enter the void were very powerful. Void has its problems but visually its stunning and one of the greatest achievements in recent cinema.

Would also be cool to see the High Tension dude in a lead role.

It is almost obvious that the director Gaspar Noe is influenced by pornographic films and gore. Definitely my favorite director, plus he is Argentine o better said french - argentine.
I have no idea what I was trying to say with this at the time.

            Anyway ... outstanding movie.

I've had this downloaded but yet to watch it.

I also recommend The Chateau w/ Paul Rudd and Romany Malco (Weeds: S:1-3). It has it's moments. It's not horror or anything as hard as Gaspar Noe's stuff but Nahon and the other French cast are hilarious.

I'm glad I was able to meet Nahon a few years ago. It's rare to see actors/actress from other countries make convention appearances here in the states.

Well I finally saw this last night and was very impressed. It did drag in some parts and felt a little repetitive sometimes but ultimately it was a hard-hitting experience and extremely depressing. I loved the directing, and the intense character study made it all the more personal. I had a tear in my eye in the end, however that was immediately taken back by what he did afterwards! I look forward to seeing Irreversible now!
