  • This is a masterpiece.

I bought the Tartan 2 disc off of amazon a long time ago, and was blown away by it. The cinematography with the south Korean country side is absolutely gorgeous to look at, not to mention the decor of the house which is so detailed and awesome. If I had any problem with it at all, I'd definitely say that some of the ghost stuff is pretty cliche. But for me, that's really minor stuff. The acting is amazing, the pace was awesome, and I loved the story.

    10/10

    • Well I agree that it's not as unique as some people want it to be. I thought it was quite scary the time I saw it, but so slow getting into. There are far between the scary parts. The part where you see that girl lying under the kitchen sink is my favorite part. I was 13 or something when I watched it so it scared me more then, than it would now.

        • While it is a well made movie, and I do get what it really is about, I just really don't feel that much towards it. I don't know why, since I usually love Asian horror.

          • I can understand why a lot of people don't really get along with it and become one of those super fanboys (like myself lol!) I just find it one of those films I like more and more each time I watch it

            • I couldn't grasp it the first time I watched it either. I was like, what? The last 40 minutes just left me bemused. But reading the explanation to it really helps you to appreciate how intricate the story is. It's so sad.

              I read it here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365376/...hread/69288079

and it's what brought it up from an 8/10 to a 9/10. Great stuff!

I definitely think it's a movie that improves with viewings and understanding. I had a WTF moment as well when first watching it, but then it dawns on you what's happening.

It didn't even dawn on me but now I read about it it's all so obvious! It makes me want to see it again because it'll be like a whole new film!

                    • I really loved this film. It was very effectively made with a brilliant fusion of suspense and scares. The setting was both beautiful and very eerie. The performances, especially by the sisters were really good. The film is definitely a very different perspective on the Asian ghost sub-genre. Additionally, it was one of the only films that I expressed myself vocally (screamed). Ultimately, I think it is one of the best Asian films ever made!
