Was no one else dissapointed with Eastern Promises and A History of Violence. I liked both films but i expected more from Cronenberg.

Both are very character driven films (with the same strong lead) - i was wondering why could he get the same amazing results with character development as he did in Deadringers..

This movie is forever imprinted on my brain! I watched it some years ago and could not shake the woman "breeder" and her smile or those things out of my head and they have only increased in nastiness over the years...the pacing was off but it seemed to serve the tone and uncomfortable feel of the film better...a definitely brain stainer for me...

I have to say, the whole "cleaning" scene, sent shivers down my spine.

                          Absolutly disgusting.

Goodness gracious! Great balls of fire!

I remember seeing this as a child (parents screwed me up early) at a drive-in. Remember those? The movie was so damn scary as a kid but I haven't see it in years so not sure how well it holds up now. I'll have to track it down and give it another look.

I call Cronenberg a genius, referring to both his intellect and his talent, and THE BROOD is one of, if not THE best of his films. Imaginative, sickening in places, and incredibly suspenseful near the end.

I'm not a Crony fan, but I do consider The Brood to be a classic. Spider is the only other film of his that I've watched more than once.
