Dead serious bro Look, I'm not going to sit here and say it's a great or even good film with the merits of filmmaking in mind. But I thoroughly enjoy it. It's a b-movie blast, has a healthy helping of gore & it has one of the hottest chicks on the planet kicking demonic martian ass. And on a serious note I think the set design is quality & I like how everything unfolds in the past tense.

A b-movie western set on Mars courtesy of John Carpenter... Just a fun, fucking movie.

You liked Hostel II over I? I haven't seen II, so...

Planet Terror was poopoo in my eyes - Death Proof was waay > Planet Terror IMO.

Wolf Creek bored me. I have patience for nuanced films, but this did nothing for me.

Hills Have Eyes was a weak remake. Now Dawn of the Dead, on the other hand...

28 Weeks? I haven't seen it yet. 28 Days was terrific tho - rapid people are the hawtness.

        I guess...
Again with Wolf Creek. Well, it's not even close to as bad as Saw, or anything Hellbilly related..

I have a feeling there will be alot more agreeing on this one than on the threads that have an alot more wide selection haha
Yea, there's very few movies listed so far that I have any beef with. On that note, I haven't seen Dark Corners or Inside yet..

I was with you until TDR. That movie is dreck. Watch it again, it doesn't stand up to repeat viewings for shit.

        Good list!

So it's apparent that there is not so much fluctuation (between informed members of this forum) of the 2000's quality films. Cool, I figured as much.

            The Orphanage
            is nothing special.
The Devil's Backbone and The Others did it better.

Doh! Two I forgot. I always seem to think of The Devil's Backbone and The Others as 90s.

I agree on The Orphanage. It was really well made and I did like it, but it wasn't as good as the two you just mentioned.

I totally forgot about The Devil's Backbone as well and added it to my list. Great flick.

I've been putting off watching The Orphanage for quite a while now for some reason. It's on Netflix Instant Watch and gotta check it out soon.

Often overlooked. I only remembered it because I noticed someone mentioned The Orphanage.
It would be in my top ten... possibly.

Truth be told, it's more of the same. The pace is much better though, and I prefer the group of girls over the guys. It's more of a great sequel, than a great stand alone movie, if that makes any sense.

Planet Terror was poopoo in my eyes - Death Proof was waay > Planet Terror IMO.
Death Proof is pure fucking garbage.

This one just grew on me. I thought it was rather average the first time I saw it, but goddamn that killer is one of the most memorable in horror movie history. Such a sadistic bastard. I like the non-hollywood ending as well.

Hills Have Eyes was a weak remake. Now Dawn of the Dead, on the other hand...
The Hills Have Eyes is just a shallow idea period. Aja breathed a ton of life into it. Unfortunatley, it spawned one of the worst movies in recent memory, in THHE 2.

Hehe, I've seen it numerous times and I still think it's great.

Just dont be saying things like "Sherri deserved an Oscar nomination" or "the movie improves over the first movie and showed the potential Zombie has."

The direction of TDR is pretty good as is the story (basic but interesting). But the dialog just drags it right back down again. Complete dreck.

                              Tutti fuckin' fruti.
