“Scooby-Doo” Gets the “Harley Quinn” Treatment With First Look at “Velma” Adult Animated Series
Iconic character Velma Dinkley is getting her own “adult animated series” over at HBO Max, with the streamer officially ordering the adult animated project to series last year.
A first-look at the upcoming series was shown off during a Warner Bros. upfront presentation today, and it gives us an idea of just how “adult” the animated series will be.
Check out the shot below, which reminds of the “Harley Quinn” animated series that can also be found on HBO Max. No word yet on when “Velma” will be premiering.
“Velma” is an adult animated comedy series telling the origin story of Velma Dinkley, the unsung and underappreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang.
An original and humorous spin that unmasks the complex and colorful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers, executive producer Mindy Kaling will voice the titular character.
The voice cast also includes Sam Richardson (Werewolves Within).
Charlie Grandy, Howard Klein and Sam Register also serve as executive producers, the press release sent out today notes. “Velma” is produced by Warner Bros. Animation.
The character of Velma Dinkley has previously been voiced by Nicole Jaffe, Pat Stevens, Marla Frumkin, Christina Lange, B.J. Ward, Mindy Cohn, Stephanie D’Abruzzo, Kate Micucci, Trisha Gum, Ariana Greenblatt, and Gina Rodriguez. She was also played in the world of live-action by Linda Cardellini, in both Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

“Chucky” – Official Trailer for This Week’s New Episode Brings Brad Dourif into the White House!
Just two episodes remain in Season 3 of “Chucky,” with the second-to-last episode airing this Wednesday night on USA & SYFY. It’s titled “There Will Be Blood,” and oh yes there will be.
Last week’s episode was absolutely INSANE, with Chucky taking control of the situation room in the White House and attempting to start World War 3. His plan was thwarted, but not before nuking the North Pole. In the wake of launching that missile, Chucky met the true death, his doll body disintegrating into ash like he got Thanos snapped out of existence.
The episode ended with an appearance from Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray in his human form, with his spirit now free from the doll and roaming around the haunted White House.
Here’s the official plot synopsis for this week’s episode: “Parapsychologists investigate the disturbances in the White House, while Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) plans her escape.”
“There Will Be Blood” airs Wednesday, April 24 on USA and SYFY. Reversing a new plan they tested out last week, we’re told the episode will be available on Peacock this Thursday.
Watch the trailer below to preview this week’s bloody new episode!
